Friendly advice, 4 to 6 tables is an incredible amount of tables if you are not allowed external software like a database manager w/HUD.

Four tables is pretty trivial even without hudbot software, unless you're playing STTs and get in the money in all of them at the same time you've only got action on more than one table really infrequently and can concentrate on that while still keeping an eye in the background in case something gets shown down

Start by playing two tables and then add additional tables as you get used to things

Wow. Thanks guys. That gives me a little confidence that im doing ok. Im competing in a leaderboard race, and some of these guys are unreal! 50 hrs after the race started there were guys with nearly 60k hands played. on a site that dosent allow huds or extra software. I heard you could set "hot keys" to make your actions faster, but i dont know anything about the tecknical computer stuff. thanks

I don't know if the site you play on has a zoom/rush kind of variant (I guess not) but a thousand hands an hour isn't uncommon. Bear in mind that if you're spamming hands to farm incentives, which seems close to obsolete these days, it's mostly just a case of seeing a hot key for fold so you can get rid of all the crap ever so slightly more quickly

I am about 6 months into study/train/play texas holdem and live in Nevada. I am starting to get pot odds to hand odds and want to use a HUD to start charting my game play so, under advisement or coaching, I can get a real track on my leaks. Obviously in NV the NGC doesn't allow HUD's to be used in cash games due to the cheat factor. I think they think it would stifle rec players from playing, thus losing revenue for all. I have no contention to this but would like to manually, if need be, feed the hand history into a tracking software simply to better my game, not exploit other players. Does anyone here know how to do this easily and effectively? I'm sure this isn't the first time the question has been asked, but new to online poker, I'm at a huge loss to navigate efficiently. Really appreciate the help in advance and really appreciate every book I have from 2+2, great gameplay analysis, thoughts and insights.

Are you talking about tracking your hands online or in a casino playing live?

How do you decide what to do when pot odds are clearly in your favour vs some hands in opponents range and completely awful against other hands?

Basically I was facing the decision of calling two shoves pre-flop with 7/7 earlyish in a tournament. My decision was that if they're a/k or a/q then call obviously makes sense, but any pocket pair above mine leaves me screwed obviously.

Full hand here for further details if needed. https://www.boomplayer.com/27253540_45B38AF75D

After looking up the odds, it was better for me than I expected so figuring I should probably call, wasn't expecting 20% vs a combination of A/A and A/Q.

Edit: Oh, and another question. What's the consensus on playing satellites vs just buying into more expensive tournaments? Is competition generally weaker in satellites to the point that they're typically cheaper as an entry assuming you're at a level to be competing in the more expensive tournament? (Which I'm not right now, just curious)

You look at how often you expect to be up against each part of this range and weigh the odds accordingly

Another question, is there any real significant difference in the ability of players in the different microstake cash game levels?

I'm currently running 0.01/0.02, would 0.05/0.10 be particularly different?

how do I turn off censoring in this forum? For me it's important to know if someone is saying **** or ****, but I only see stars.

went through all the options, can't find it.

There is no way for a user to turn off censoring on this open-to-the-public website.

One can not use the argument "Hey, we're all adults here"..... because it is not true.

And...we have enough problems with trollers, spammers and argumentative personalities..... throw in all the naughty words that will escalate a verbal contest and you are setting up a fairly chaotic ecosystem that would become a wasteland.

2+2 forums are on a publishing house's website. 2+2 publish poker and other gambling content. The owners get to choose how the website is operated. You could always contact admin and ask....but you are likely to not be satisfied with their answer.

That's OK though. You are more than welcome to start your own website dedicated to poker and gambling discussion and run it anyway you like.

too late, already started my own pokerforum. I'd offer you a modding job, but I don't think you can take all the cursing.

Hey!

I actually find it weird that my most profitable position is the BB so far. Is it due to low sample size or otherwise there's a way to maintain profit from the blinds? My results are quite good from the SB too. I've read in several other topics that one should keep around -20/100 bb ev from the BB and that's just fine, so I'm really amazed at these numbers right now.
Any opinions?

edit: This is NL5 and NL10 mixed so that's why you might see a bigger net won in USD while smaller bb/100 at some positions.

yes, it's small sample size, you will not be winning from the blinds

I keep seeing people say I have to be good x% amount of the time to call or I am being given odds of x.x:x so I need to I have to be good x amount of the time...

How are you working these numbers/%'s?

If he's bet, say, half the pot and the pot is sized x, you're needing to call 0.5x to win 1.5x, so you need to work out what percentage of the time you have to win the hand so that you break even, i.e. you're trying to work out the percentage y so that:

1.5x*y = 0.5x*(1-y)

Divide each side by 0.5x to get 3y = 1-y, add a y to each side to get 4y = 1, and you get y to be 25%, which is exactly what you would expect. The same principle applies to any sized bet
