With us both having trips, we need two cards higher than both our kickers for it to be a chop. The queen is one, we need another. It's not like it's an A77K board and we both have ace - not a king or seven

Best hands for Hero are the 3 outstanding 2s.

Chops are the 3 Qs and 3 5s as noted PLUS:
AAAKQ
AAAQJ

Obviously a T on the river wins for Villain.

But so does 3-9 because AAAQT is the best hand

What site (do you) (will you) play on?

What games will you play?

Here are my dumb questions. I played a lot of limit poker some 5 years ago.

Now my questions are concerning NL micros.

1.What ist the best material to study in order to be a winner?
Two days ago I got "The grinders manual", already on page 179 I learned a lot. So maybe that helps to judge my skill.

2.I was used to play on stars but it seems that their rakeback system now is really bad. Which would be a good site for me? I like the zoom format and hate I-Poker software.

3.What are achievable winrates at NL25 Zoom? (for an average guy, who is willing to spend an initial 100hours of theory work and later 5hours per week)

Weltcheftrainer

Take just a small amount of time and look through the last 50 threads that have been started in Beginners Questions. All three of your questions are answered.

1. Grinder's in good...maybe the best....

2. Rakeback used to be king. Mostly find a site that features software you like because the rakeback system you are hoping to find will be on an obscure site that has little traffic (maybe). Are you USA based?

3. Breakeven is VERY good! Really, just try to breakeven is a GOOD goal of any (just starting back) player. Winrates for poker online now are not what they were when you played 5 years ago. Market compression has all the sjarks playing the same tables..... Maybe thinking about half your rate from 5 years ago EXCEPT you are now playing NL instead of limit. My opinion is your "win"rate will be lower than you hope.

Is rakeback no longer a big deal? What's changed?

Anyone fancy giving some insight to why and what site they choose please??

I played on stars NL 10 zoom for 4k hands now.
I pay 10bb/100 rake, which is insane.

Is there a cheaper site or even better a rake comparison?

When a hand is described by a single rank then lowercase "x", does the x mean a low card that hasn't connected with the board?

Ie. Kx on a Kh7c2d board.

Not so much board connect, though board connect can also be correct as in your example.

Kx as I understand it is mostly a PF nomenclature to show a King with a no help kicker. Not same suit and lower than a 9 (so no 2 card straight).

Has nothing to do with it. The x just means any random card, so a king with any card along with it. On the flop that could mean AK since you're just grouping all top pairs, but it can't be two pair else it wouldn't be the same ranking. Preflop it just means all kings up to KQ. AK would obviously fall under Ax.

To make it confusing the x can sometimes also mean a suit.

x in the statement Kx where x=J is not a meaningless card imo.

I have also never seen the x to mean any suit. A sentence written like that doesn't need the "x". HE is a two card game. Kx is two cards, not one K and showing no suit......again, imo.

Kx, Kxo, KsXd, Kxdd..... not sure where Kx is denoting Ks/Kh,Kd/Kc.

I could be completely wrong however. I'm new to the game.

Then again the x is not supposed to mean that it is a meaningless card. It means that it could be any card that can come with a king that isn't two pair or better. Ax preflop for example can be A2 or AQ, it isn't supposed to say anything about how good that hand is.

There is some truth in what you say.....yet I have never seen AK represented as Ax.....you?

Yes, very often. How would you write down a shoving range that includes all aces other than A2s+/A2o+, which would be the long notation.

Oh....range. I thought OP ask about specific hand nomenclature. My mistake.
