Yes, go to equilab.com, and get the calculator id you want it free.

Floppzilla does a lot more cool stuff but it's not free.

The best way to decide which one you want (or want to pay for) is to watch a video on both. Equilab is first:

Thanks! (@mrno1324 as well)

Having some difficulties installing Equilabs on my mac, but will sort it out! I've watched videos of Flopzilla, seems pretty good, most likely will end up purchasing that after a bit of practicing.

How do I size my preflop raise if there is a open raiser and a couple of limpers?

The standard response is to add to your raise to account for limpers, or if you're out of position. You want to increase the size of your raise to thin the field in both of these cases. Here are two examples:

1. You are first to act holding AQ under the gun. Your standard raise is 3 big blinds. Add one BB for being out of position and make the raise 4BB.

2. You are in the cutoff and two players have limped. Raise to 5BB, your standard 3 plus one for each limper.

What is if I want to re-raise the initial raiser?

What is the effect of having a "rock" in the game? For example, 1/3 with 10 "rock". I believe the winner of the previous hand would have to post $10 - does it also give the rock the button?

Here's my dumb question, I've read the info but for some reason, I can't really get it

so I'm going to play live at a tournament for the first time in a few days. other than that, I play a few home games and a little bit online

now, there's a thing, I'm not sure it's quite the same online, but say if someone before me raises, if I want to 3bet, I must at least double his raise, or at least meet his raise +1 chip? (wouldn't do 1 chip, but for the sake of the example)

we all gotta start somewhere I guess

It has got to be at least the amount of the previous raise. If at 50/100 I raise to 300, you can make it 500

alright, so that's what I thought initially but I think I misread something somewhere so I wanted to make sure and not make a fool of myself (more than I probably already will, being the newbie at the tournament)

You should always check the house rules to make sure there isn't anything weird that applies just to that room, or if in doubt, ask the dealer

What does it mean when somebody says, "I was playing at the top of my range"

I would guess it means that someone usually plays a certain percentage of hands in a given situation, then they tighten up such that they are only playing a small percentage of their usual range.

For example, if I'm playing the top 15% of my hands, the tournament situations changes and I decide to tighten up and only play the top 5%
of my hands (88+,AJs+,KQs,AKo) then I'm playing at the top of my range.

I have never seen a definition for "the top" of someone's range, so it's probably something like what I just wrote.

It just means that you're holding one of the best hands in your range in a given spot.

A good baseline is 3x the original raise. If there are callers in between you can add an extra multiple for each caller just like you do with limpers. So, standard online cash game player opens to 3bb you re-raise 3x to 9bb or player opens to 3bb, two players call, you re-raise to 15bb.

It should be noted though that three bet sizing is far more dynamic than open sizing and their are a myriad of reasons why you may want to go larger or small than this in particular spots.

Hi guys !
I was wondering how many BB/100 you consider as "normal" to loose for non showdown winnings (red line) at 6-max micros ? Knowing that at those stakes you make money by going to showdown with better hands and not by bluffing.

No. Term originated (?) in the Live Casino Poker area. The term is used when someone (floor, dealer or player) does something egregiously bad enough to earn the penalty.

I'm a fairly experienced amateur NLH tourney player and my wife has recently gotten into the game. She's on an extended trip back to her home country, and we were wondering if there was a play-money website or App where we can do sit-and-go tourneys that we can both play in the same tournament or where we can play against each other heads-up.

Thanks in advance.

Are there any points in an MTT where it could be considered a bad play to get all your chips in while ahead or should you always consider this +EV?

As an extreme example... let's say you're in an MTT and on the first hand when blinds are still 15/30 and you have 5k chips, you manage to get it all in preflop with KK. Is the fact you got 166BB in preflop with KK a bad play regardless of the outcome here?

I have won and gone to FT in a few MTT's but often times I get knocked out when only half the entrants are gone with hands that are between 60/40 and 80/20.

I keep thinking that if I had tried to keep the pot smaller and got through all 3 streets I probably would have been able to fold and get away from it but I'm struggling to justify this when I'm a mathematical favourite...
