PT4 has built-in videos, I guess you are a beginner, so it will be a good start.
After that you can dig in the forums, custom stat section, and go from there

Thank you for this King Spew, another dumb question. when we are getting our pot odds, we use the same kind of formula but we use it very differently(I will give example.) why is this?

Example:

There is $200 in the pot and oppenent bets $100(the total pot is $300), the action gets to us, we are getting 3-1 on our money(in percentage we need at least 25% to call,1 divided by 4, am I right here?) Can we use the same formula here? 3:1 has 4 out comes 3 diveded 4=75%. One is giving us 25% and the other is giving us75%. Which one is right?

You can find a video on Google that will show you how to do just about anything, from how to play suited connectors to how to fix your toilet.

I've been playing online lately mostly 10NL I was wondering what percentage of the time I should be re-raising/3betting hands? In order to remain profitable.

It depends. Could be every hand, could be with nothing but aces

How do I play suited connectors while fixing my toilet? What is the probability of a flush?

Hello, I have question regarding a split pot. Please see attached image. Is Player2's outcome 20 chips in this scenario?. I haven't included any suits but I hope the scenario i'm trying to demo is clear enough.

In heads up why does 88 have higher all in equity than 55 vs KQs (with no shared suits)? both have straight runs up and down, and 88 infact has straights that are blocked by full house draws for KQs? An explanation would be great thanks.

I find it hard to continue being motivated playing Zoom PLO10 with a 100 buyin roll and basically breaking even at the end of each month. I dont use a HUD and consider myself an average online player. The temptation to play the same game I am currently but step up to PLO25, then PLO50 whenver I lose flips as a kind of martingale variation on things. Instinctively I know this is a bad idea so I come to be discouraged or otherwise

There is another reason to start small. You need to be able to play against all kind of competition, from beginners to players that are better than you. You need to learn how those beginners play so you're ready to exploit them.

In my local charity room a few months a ago, at my table there was an 18-year-old at my table playing his first live poker tournaments. His mom bought him in (she was at my table as well.) At the next table over there was a player who has several cashes from the Heartland Poker Tour.

You have to be comfortable playing against all possible player types and skill levels.

I'm looking for a specific article that was written by Phil Galfond in Bluff Magazine. I don't remember the year/month it was published.

It was titled something like, "You are Bad at Poker, Yes I'm Talking to You!"

I reached out to Phil on Twitter but he didn't provide me any specifics other than it should be archived in Bluff somewhere. I've been searching the site but haven't been able to find anything. I've used google search with key words but no luck.

Any help would be appreciated.

Merry Christmas! And thanks in advance,
BJballs

Why can't I see all of the threads? I go into the "Medium Stakes PL/NL" and see 2 pages of threads while it says it has thousands of threads.

Bottom left of a main page in the box Display Options
Drop down choices can be 'from the beginning' or something like that

I think you have to do this for all Sub Forums that you want to expand.

Bit confused on how to play against fish. I originally thought against fish, you wait until you have a strong starting hand and then play aggressively, but I've been reading posts that say you should actually widen your range and bet against them since they will be playing marginal hands a lot. So which is recommended?

Also, do you c-bet or not against fish? Do you only c-bet when you flop TPTK+?

Sorry, I've probably read the answers to these in the stickies but my brain feels absolutely fried and isn't working properly.

There are different types of fish. So you need to figure out the best way to play a specific fish-type.

Some you bluff
Some you value bet light
Some you 3! 100%
Some you simply call down.

Your question is too generic.

Ah I see. I thought a fish was a name for someone who just calls or checks. Thanks.
