so I've been playing online for a bit now, and being not familiar with everything, I'm not sure what to make of "sit-and-go" games...

I mostly play cash and was thinking if MT sit-and-go are worth my time and effort in the long run ... for instance, if I were to play, I would probably play those $11, 180 player, but it would mean I would have to be 1 out of 10 just to make the money and make a $12 profit ...

I'm not really sure what I'm trying to say, but I'm curious to know what you regulars think of sit-and-go's in terms of making a profit, or if its even worth the time.. thanks

Top 18 get paid in those 180 player SNGs.

Your goal in tournaments is not to just squeak into the money.

I realize that this is highly risky on my part, but I was wondering if there was anyone that "bought" bodog accounts with money in them and in return sent money to the "Seller" on pokerstars, or in another way? I need the money that's in there and can't wait the 40 days. Is this a known of practice? Also, if this can be posted somewhere else, can the Mods please move it there and let me know where it's been moved.

Thanks.

I don't see anything good that can come from this.

on the rare occasions when enough players stay to the last street, a community card is dealt face up.

If you get 8 people drawing on all streets, I want in that game! Most players aren't seeing the river.

Also, if there are not enough cards to deal the river, it is dealt in the middle as a community card.

what's a cooler?

today, it means a hand where you should always lose a lot of money if you play well. opponent just had better cards than you could have expected, or you got most of the money in while you were way ahead.

it comes from an old cheating term for a deck secretly introduced into the game to make one player lose a lot of money to another. Since the new deck was not "warm" from play, it was a cold deck or cooler, see. The crudest form would be to deal KK to the sucker, and give him a set of kings on the flop. The cheater would get AA, with a 3rd Ace on the river.

Here's a link to an example of a more artful cooler

but usually now when somebody says this, they're not alleging cheating, just a hand that would be impossible to not lose money on.

The only dumb question is the one you do not ask. The veterans are here to help so keep those questions coming. It helps us identify you when we play you online LOL

This is probably an advantage to playing online; it eliminates any prospect of losing as a result of sleight of hand. It is a shame people resort to those tactics.

ok question.. what does stacking mean in a cash game?

Does it mean that you beat the other guy and take his whole stack or that he takes your whole stack?

Thanks in advance

If you stack someone, you take all their chips.

If you stack off (or someone stacks you), you lose all your chips.

Stack, felt, bust, break, 86--all mean the same thing.

Flipping is agreeing to put all your money in blind preflop--like a coin flip, only with cards.

My friend thinks just like your roommate. I laugh anytime we play a cash game together... he starts talking **** saying yeah you're gonna stack me.. I quietly think yep I am, your chips will be mine.

Question after reading the rakeback/affiliates forum. There seem to be folks who are looking for a rakeback agreement and post their # of hands played, limit, etc and ask for PM's with offers. Why do they do this? Are they looking for a better arrangement than one could get by just signing up through the normal channels? Thx!
