I made an account at ub a few months back but never deposited. 2 days ago I deposited 10 bucks. However I never used any affiliate or any promo codes or anything. So I was wondering if I could still get rakeback at ub. If so how and who to use?

what are 3bet and 4bet?
The initial Big Blind is the first bet. A raise is the 2nd bet. So a 3bet is when there's a re-raise, and 4bet when there's 3 raises pre flop.

Why lotta pros like heads up?
Because they don't have to share a weak opponants money with any other players, and they get to play against them every single hand.

And what Bacon said - It's watching, spectating, cheering, observing, etc.

Is there a term for this:

Let's say you have T7, and you make a straight, 6-7-8-9-10. The river is a 10, and villain's now QJ makes a higher straight:
8-9-10-J-Q
vs
6-7-8-9-10

Would you say "counterfeiting" or something else?

Meh, it would be counterfeiting if he had 44 or something so the T makes it a split pot. That's just being outdrawn or rivered or sucked out on.

busto is slang for going bust. "Going bust" (to go bust) is an idiom - a figure of speech. It means to lose completely, everything.

So, if you have $100, and you lose $50, that is not busto. If you lose $75 or even $85, that is not busto. But if you lose all $100, that is busto. They key here, is that there is nothing left.

Busto = a complete and total loss.

to practice multitable skills for when they play higher

to grind out a profit slowly with low variance (compared to the same profit at fewer tables at higher stakes)

single-tabling is boring (to these players)

and because all the cool players multitable.

Shania is not important at micro and low stakes. Mostly, people are just using "Shania" to justify weird and -EV plays.

In Hold'em Manager theres a line which tells you how much rake paid. I was wondering is this what you have actually paid or is it based on the sites system like the contributed method etc.

Hello, I've been a member of the 2+2 site for about a week or so now, I started listening to the pokercast, then when I was playing on PStars I noticed there was a MTT w/ a 1FPP buy-in for pokercast listeners. But my dumb question is, how/where do i find the password? I signed up to play in a league with pokercast listeners but it was different and the buy-in's were $5.50, so am I not allowed to play in the 1fpp MTT? If someone could let me know I'd appreciate it. BTW, I think the site is great, I'm having some troubles navigating my way around it, but hope to learn more from it!

they announce the password sometime during the pokercast. you must have missed it. [hint -- they frequently announce it later in the 'cast, around the miscellaneous smaller segments, not in the middle of a big interview]

It's the amount of rake taken from pots you won.

Most sites use MGR for rakeback, not rake paid.

How many hands did Doyle Brunson play in his life time?

so far?

I don't think he plays online much, so maybe it's not quite as incredibly high as it might be, but easily into 7 figures. maybe pushing 8.

an online pro plays what, a few hundred thousand per year? In 50 years, 500k per year is 25 million. doyle would be playing far fewer annually. 100k x 50 is 5 million.

100k per year is 400 hands a day, 5 days a week, 50 weeks out of the year, 20 hands/hour x 8 hours. That's probably a touch high for an exclusively live player, especially someone like Doyle who has other things going on in his life.

What's the difference between the Micro Stakes NL subforum and the Micro Full Ring subforum? Do they cover much the same issues?

micro full ring is for 9-handed games.

micro stakes NL is for 6-handed ONLY!!!!

microNL (uNL) doesn't consider full-ring to be manly poker. They're very defensive about it. I post a full ring hand there once in a while just to rile them up. It's fun. Sort of like going into a biker bar and saying "hey, that purple harley looks kind of gay", except you won't get killed.
