Others may have a different interpretation than I do but I would think the mover thinks you open up too many hands and wants first crack at iso-raising you preflop. May also happen post flop where you bet or cbet too much and again, will raise to isolate you (get others to fold to 2 bets).

Of course, none of your strat may match this .....but is the mover's opinion of your play.

Or....simply wants a better vantage point of the entire table or the TV or the waitress station. (This is mostly only in lower stakes.)

Question regarding hyper turbo sngs - if you know someone will push any two cards if folded to the small blind into the big blind, what are your minimum calling requirements? I am not talking about early stages where the blinds are low but mid to late stage. Also, is this dependent on your stack size?

I am thinking any ace, any pair, any two face cards or ace/face and maybe suited connectors. Starting to play more of these and not sure if there is a good book/thread that would be a good read for the hypers.

Thanks

This depends on a lot of things.
Your stack, SB's stack, places paid, players left, stack sizes of other players at the table, ...

Get an ICM tool and experiment with it.
HRC (holdem resource manager) is cheap and easy
ICMizer is a bit more expensive but probably easier to use

this is not only dependent on your stack size, this is dependent on the blind levels, number of people left, their stack sizes and the payout structure. can be correct to call any two, can be correct to fold aces.

Hello,

does it make sense to continue playing tournaments with such a results? AV ROI 13.2%. Also how many tournaments a player should have played to find out if he is the winning player?

How should we know if it makes sense for you to continue playing?
It depends on what your goals are.

You're winning, so why wouldn't it make sense to continue playing?
98% of poker players never get a positive ROI, so you're doing great!

How many tournaments you should play depends on the field size.

Look at the standard 1st price in the tournaments you play.
If you would finish 1st in one of these, how would that affect your ROI?
If it would change your ROI by more than 10% that is huge and your sample is too small.

From looking at your graph it's impossible to say if you're a winning player.
Remove either of those big wins and you're breaking even.
Maybe you're playing great and should've won more.
Maybe you just ran great and won those 2 making you a winner.

Play around with this and you'll get a feel for MTT variance:

I'm just guessing here, since I don't know what buy-ins and field sizes you're playing.

But yes, 2500 is probably a small sample.

I'd guess around 20k would be a decent sample, but in large field tournaments, especially if your ROI isn't extremely high, you could still be losing or break-even after 50k tournaments.

It really depends on your skill level, field size and stakes.

I don't mind that pt4 shows the hands from the previous hand, at the beginning of the next one, but is it possible to change the location? It's blocking my and villains' stack.

I was going to get starscaption, but I see that it is on the official list of prohibited programs, so all of its value is gone?

I was primarily getting it to extend my quick bet options/not bet with my keyboard.
Are there any alternatives?

In terms of looking at ranges is this a good or correct way of doing it? Let's say I have AJs utg and Button calls (6max), then the blinds fold. It comes up something like 952 with no flush possible. Personally I look at it as though "Do they have a 9 in their range? Yes they could have A9s, T9s, 89s", and so on and so forth. I don't go through the whole they could have AceX-X, KingX-X. Is this correct?

Also when you have a situation like this who really has advantage? The flop suits his range more with him on the button but I have overcards, therefore if I hit an Ace or Jack I've be with range advantage (even a King or Queen) may give me range advantage.

I've been building an app for a new variant of poker and I was thinking of hosting a small freeroll online tournament to playtest it. Which is the best forum to post about this?
