Kx as I understand it is mostly a PF nomenclature to show a King with a no help kicker. Not same suit and lower than a 9 (so no 2 card straight).
Has nothing to do with it. The x just means any random card, so a king with any card along with it. On the flop that could mean AK since you're just grouping all top pairs, but it can't be two pair else it wouldn't be the same ranking. Preflop it just means all kings up to KQ. AK would obviously fall under Ax.
To make it confusing the x can sometimes also mean a suit.
