I'm terrible at math and need some help with something I'm trying to figure out.

If someone were to play 100 $7 HUSNGs with each player paying $0.29 in rake each match how much would that player be losing if they finished ITM only 35% of the time? How about 40% and 45%?

@Nutwallace Go with your open raising chart in that spot, but make sure you raise bigger than usual. Rule of thumb is to add a big blind to 3bb for each limper (assuming online poker). So you'd raise A9o to 4bb in your example (assuming 100bb deep).
In theory you'd need to tighten up the raising range because your raise needs to go through an extra player but it's generally not necessary in practice. fwiw some would even advocate loosening it up but that's dubious imo.

lol at using the term ITM when talking about HU donkaments, the word "win" will suffice. Clarify whether you mean these are $7+0.29 donkaments or $6.71+0.29 donkaments

$6.71 + $0.29 - sorry about that.

Thanks mrno1324, very kind of you to help me out, I'll put that into practice. What a nice forum this is!

Hiya, was asked the following question:

You put your opponent on a low/medium pair. How many outs do you have to win?

Hole: A K
Flop: Q 10 2

Is it...

A) 6
B) 10
C) 12

(FYI the answer is given as 10 but I couldn't get to it).

Questions:
  1. Does "You put your opponent on a low/medium pair" mean you think your opponent has a low/medium pair? (Sorry ).

  2. If so, could you show me how it's 10 outs please?

Thanks as always!

1. Yes it does.
2. 3 aces, 3 kings, 4 jacks

Ahh, so that's 3 aces for higher pair, 3 kings for higher pair and 4 jacks for the straight, right?

Thanks mate!

Hi there, had a question about the following NLHE starting hands chart found at:

http://www.pokerology.com/charts/nlh...ands-chart.pdf

In the 'Pairs' row that says '99 - 22', the advice is to fold in early and middle position if the action has folded to you.

Is this an error or is this correct? If correct, can you explain why (given that if the action has called/raised before you it advises you to call).

Thanks!

Seems fine, it's probably due to position - if you're opening then unless the blinds call you're going to have to act first and there's not many flops you'll feel comfortable on. In position you will have the implied odds most of the time, and it becomes a very easy hand to play

Understood, thanks sixfour!

Hello everybody, how do we get our equity on the flop, I know we can just use the 4 and 2 rule but how do we do it the proper way?

This from Poker math that matters:

Estimate the hero's equity for the following hand.

Hero: 3♣️3♦️

Villain: J♦️J♥️

Board: 3♠️5♣️5♦️

We can just use the rule of 4 and 2:

We will need to estimate the villains equity first, villain has 4 outs, so 4x4=16

100 - 16 = 84

How do we do this, if we do it the exact way?

In the book Owen Gaines showed showed the way how to do it, did I do it right?

Owen showed this way and I followed it exactly like he described, this is how to do it from the flop.

Another question, I was checking what our equity is, when we have 8 outs, I used several odds calculators and they all said it was 18.18%.

These charts says it is 17%.

Which one is correct?

You shove it in to twodimes because there's a trivial amount of possibilities and it can be done in a millisecond

Sorry sixfour, are you responding to my question? If yes I do not get what you are saying.

Attachment? Are you talking about adding attachments or embedding a photo or video?

If the former, please link to a post with an attachment.
