Not Betting Scare Cards If You Have a Made Hand

Just came across this in a tourney. I raise utg with KQo. flop comes King high two diamonds. I bet 3/4th pot with it, he calls. Ace of clubs hits the turn. I bet and he folds. Wouldn't it be better to check call here and let him bluff off worse pairs and draws? Basically if I bet turn and he shoves I have to fold.

Stacks, positions, blinds, antes, # of players on the table? Live or online? Exact flop? How many players to the flop and their positions?
If it's 9-handed just fold the KQo, rather play hands like suited broadways instead. Turn depends on flop texture. If it was KT9dd it's different from K52dd. On many boards the ace isn't a scare card to you and on some boards the ace isn't a scare card to him because you'd check the flop with an ace.

Yes .. and don't forget Player image as well ...
1) Do you always bet 3/4 pot or different sizes? Or only when you hit to 'protect' your hand?
2) A Player may continue K52 with TT but fold when a 2nd over-card hits the Board. Does it matter what you have as long as your image has shown lots of Ax/Kx?
3) You can't expect a Player that doesn't bluff to bluff, eh? Charge um ...
4) Depending on stack depth, Level in the tournament and table dynamic KQo can put you in some sticky spots, especially if you bet Flop, Turn and are still facing multiple opponents going to the River. GL

you also denied villains equity on the turn.
even though he doesn't have an Ace that much and has to fold, he also doesn't get to draw for free. checking gives up major control of the hand - denying that is also a benefit.
