hi, i've been playing poker on pokerstars since april(had literally 0 experience/contact with it before that)
i've made a few small deposits and been trying out mtts/cash games/heads up etc. with decent success i'd say?
this morning i registered for a $22 bounty builder by accident(basically for most I had in my ps balance) on pokerstars and finished it 14th for $62 and $138 in bounties giving me a bankroll of about $220.
i am looking for any suggestions or most appropriate/profitable stuff to play at this BR size and higher(if I succeed further). i am not really into cash games so MTT's/sng's would be way better.
would playing $1/$1.50 45-180 player sng's be the best choice at my current BR size($220)? and what should i preferably be looking to play once i move further? if i do, which i hopefully will.
For what it's worth, you can probably play NL5 off of that roll (44 buy ins seems sufficient if you have a big enough edge, as this money can always be replenished at these stakes).
Depends on your situation. If you're able to reload if busto and you're mostly just playing for fun, you have a budget, not a bankroll - cash out some of what you've won and buy yourself something small you like, just to give yourself something tangible to say "I won this through poker" and understand the point is to occasionally win some cash to turn into goods or services. Having $100-150 is perfectly good to play some donkaments at the level people have already suggested
The reality is the variance in tournaments and large SNGs sucks especially if you're not a big winner, which no offence meant to you you probably aren't (almost no one is).
I highly advise doing what 64 said and withdrawing a large chunk of it and spending it on something you like. Leave like $50 in your account and play around in micro stake tournaments that take your fancy (anything under $3 really). I can't imagine you are going to be putting in that much volume so just keep it as a hobby and play for fun. Any big wins withdraw and treat yourself, any times you go bust just reload another $50 (assuming you have the money obviously).
If you want to start taking poker more seriously then things become slightly different but ultimately you've been playing what 3 months? It's be pretty silly to decide to do that.
