I almost know the feeling

PLO5 12 K hands 12 pt BB/ 100
PLO10 7.5 K hands -4.3 pt BB/100

I haven't HATED my play at PLO10 but I haven't loved it either. Still, I think it has been better then -4.3 pt BB/100 lolz

****. I'm starting to doubt whether I should even be playing poker. Now down 9BI over the past 2000 hands... at 2NL. I know there's downswings, and I have run KK twice and QQ once into AA (two of them cold-called a 3bet pre), but I just can't see much else I'm doing wrong, nor any real coolers.

I stopped 3/ 4 bet getting it in with QQ and AK preflop readless after watching a Nikachi video. Him and Blah 123( DC coach) basically Taught me that you should have a reason to 3/ 4 bet those hands( like anything you do in poker really).

Also, you mentioned not "knowing" something. I've learned from Wilt on Tilt( DC coach, Pokersense series ) that( among other things) when your learning something, there are "unknown unkowns". Which sounds wierd, but things you don't know, you don't know! Just keep studying, poker can be a messed up game lol.

-edit- "Also, you can be getting in the money in completely standard spots and getting unlucky, that's part of the game too"

QQ was a bit different - vil flatted my 3bet OTB and the flop came AQx. As far as I was concerned, this was t3h nutzzzzzz.

Thanks anyway. I'll try and play 500 hands tomorrow and see if I can't book a winning session.

I hope you were thinking about why you were 3 betting QQ BEFORE you 3 bet it. But yeah, after you flop a set, the money should be going in. If you lost, that was a cooler especially considering how the action went. If you 3 bet him and he was the type to either 3b or fold OOP, and he 4 bet you, then I would say you would probably be better off flatting because his range for 4 betting would probably be very KK/ AA heavy( I've noticed that a lot of regs at 10 nl/ 5 nl are not 4 betting AK a lot of times)... Then obv your just going to isolate yourself against the top of his range by 3 betting- while a flat keeps in a lot of hands you do well against

I just 3bet QQ as a standard because I think that I'm generally going to be called by 88-JJ, AK and sometimes AQ, all of which I can make money off postflop, and I'll normally be 4bet pre by a very narrow range of AA-QQ (and I have blockers to the other QQ), which stops me from losing much vs. better hands. Is this reasonable thinking? I really don't think many regs at 2NL 4bet JJ and AK (perhaps more the latter, but even then I'm racing). I think the problem with flatting is that it entices people to come along with hands like low PPs and SCs which gives me large RIO.

Gah, gonna keep out of low BI SnGs for a while.
Too many luckbox 75/10 villains.

Called a raise from LP with 9T, flop ATT, villain checks I bet, he calls. Turn a Q, he shoves, I call all in (I noticed villain does this with one pair hands), he turns over KQ - sweet, lol. River a Q giving him better FH than mine, although he called behind.

Another one, getting shortstacked maybe 10BB left, shove over a raise with AJs. LP villain calls (he has about 15BB) with K7o, and flops a 7 which holds up.

Too many coin flippers in these games for me, I don't mind losing cash to a bad beat, but getting knocked out of a tourney bothers me more.

Finally had a great day, 1,000 hand session and won 5BI plus the $50 from unlocking my most recent stellar reward so I've recovered from all my bad days recently. Also got 950FPPs but got to wait until the storm goes back up to normal price to use those.

Play more tables

Not gonna post another graph, but still playing 30ht and now shotting 55t. Realized I have 108% rb til my dep bonus is over so I've been sitting coinflip sngs, hit 2 more ronin payouts and cleared a lot of bonus as well as not running terrible -- almost back on pace for points now, might even get an extra tier or 2 this month (extra 2 or 3.5% rb).

Short story, last night I was shotting 55t and played 2 games vs "~ Ice Water" (look up his graph he's a beast), Lock pro who has played as high as 200s/300s in the past. After the second game (he won both ) we were talking about the last hand and he was giving me some advice, but he also told me he wasn't gonna sit my lobs and I was more than good enough to play $50s+

Massive fistpump! Lost 3bi vs 2 extremely solid $55 regs last night but it only took that to get both of them undersitting me, guess I'm doing something right

GL all run good!

Think I saw you today Raikkonen, my HUD says you're NIT

Seriously tho, nice session for you. I'm struggling to win more than 1BI per session at best. Not getting value from my hands and find a lot of villains floating the flop cbet. My 'usual' cbet is 2/3rds pot. Is this too much at 10nl for some reason?

Am also running ridiculously below EV, not to mention being $70 down in EV with AA/KK. Grumble, grumble!!

Re: June Beginners Bankroll Thread

Yeah I'm a maniac at 6-max cash games but on FR MTTs I just never seem to get any hands I can play, I end up playing like 12/11. Didn't get much to do before this happened, run good well and truely ended:

PokerStars - $5+$0.50|10/20 NL - Holdem - 9 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 4

MP: 5,000.00
MP+1: 4,900.00
CO: 10,320.00
BTN: 5,138.00
SB: 4,950.00
Hero (BB): 4,860.00
UTG: 4,890.00
UTG+1: 4,972.00
UTG+2: 4,930.00

SB posts SB 10.00, Hero posts BB 20.00

Pre Flop: (pot: 30.00) Hero has K K

fold, fold, fold, MP raises to 80.00, fold, fold, fold, fold, Hero raises to 260.00, MP raises to 680.00, Hero raises to 1,460.00, MP raises to 5,000.00 and is all-in, Hero calls 3,400.00 and is all-in

Flop: (9730.00, 2 players) T 2 3

Turn: (9730.00, 2 players) J

River: (9730.00, 2 players) 9

Hero shows K K (One Pair, Kings) (Pre 50%, Flop 48%, Turn 40%)
MP shows K K (Flush, King High) (Pre 50%, Flop 52%, Turn 60%)
MP wins 9,730.00

I normally cbet just a little over 60% (obviously dependent on flop but that would be my average too). I normally struggle in similar respects as you but I normally bring it on myself, I tend to win so much because I have a swingy style hence the big downswings too. I double barrel quite a lot so I probably don't get floated too much, typically I double barrel most turn cards as long as they are not a total brick or I'm against a station. I normally just give up straight away against shortstackers and complete fish.

Had a great hand with AA today, was not expecting to be ahead tbh:

PokerStars - $0.10 NL (6 max) ZOOM - Holdem - 6 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 4

BTN: $14.40
SB: $14.17
Hero (BB): $17.49
UTG: $10.00
MP: $9.74
CO: $19.52

SB posts SB $0.05, Hero posts BB $0.10

Pre Flop: (pot: $0.15) Hero has A A

fold, MP raises to $0.30, CO calls $0.30, BTN calls $0.30, fold, Hero raises to $1.20, MP calls $0.90, fold, BTN calls $0.90

Flop: ($3.95, 3 players) 4 7 6
Hero bets $2.20, MP calls $2.20, BTN raises to $13.20 and is all-in, Hero raises to $16.29 and is all-in, MP calls $6.34 and is all-in

Turn: ($38.89, 3 players) J

River: ($38.89, 3 players) 7

Hero shows A A (Two Pair, Aces and Sevens) (Pre 69%, Flop 49%, Turn 71%)
BTN mucks 6 3 (Two Pair, Sevens and Sixes) (Pre 18%, Flop 20%, Turn 12%)
MP mucks A 5 (One Pair, Sevens) (Pre 13%, Flop 31%, Turn 17%)
Hero wins $37.39

i've decided that the Euros is my doom switch. As soon as the portugal netherlands game started started, my upswing ended and turned into a downswing.

Not to mention, since the euros started, i went from $50 up to $3 up haha.

Played a very short session today. I think I tilt quicker when on a downswing. 50 hands, then AA < 98o AIPF for a 300bb pot. I just quit there because I felt myself getting a little frustrated.
