Wow. Once you go 6-max its hard to go back! So many people look for and give action. Its nice to actually have a decent edge over my opponents at 6NL.

Bit annoyed at tournaments atm. Ran deep yesterday in a 900GTD with 50+ payouts for top 6. Busted in 36 after calling a shove with AK against KJ and well you guys know the rest... A 5 dollar payout just does my head in after 4 hours of play..

Your right, once you have caught the 6max bug, you wont go back!

That said, get used too and love them swings! They will be coming.

Anyway, I think this is a good place to bitch/moan about my bad start to the month - 25NL 6max zoom (Hand no 12k-the end were the result of todays rather brutal excusions in the less than perfect world of online poker. -11.5BI is a record for bad days for me!)

Onwards and upward...

zzz....another dire session. Can't seem to run good or even have the best hand hold up. I just got trounced once again and i'm not even doing anything wrong. Got my rakeback today, lost that I must have missed sets so many times I lost count. Only times I did hit them was on mono flops. People played some ridiculous hands and got bailed out numerous times against me, I can't even win playing semi-decently! Thank god I have rakeback because without it i'd be majorly ****ed. Just feel fed up with poker and considering the amount of time i've been putting in playing i'm wondering whether I should bother. Maybe I can just get some good luck and finally get back to winning again as this is getting soul destroying.

So this villain decided to play KKKx, donk bet top set on a mono flop and then decided to go all in. Of course he got there too

So brutal.... I had A697, of course I miss it all. Not sure how villain makes these calls tbh.

gah! Monster flop for me (KQJT) and of course I run into a set and turn has me dead.

*sigh*

A bit of run good with AKJx.

62% for me. Obv not good enough

Just 73%, not good enough again. KQJ6 for me.

So sick...I hate this villain. It tilted me that earlier I stacked off to him pre-flop for 100bb with AQJx vs his AAxx after he limp called a 3bet and then decided to 5bet. Middle set + nut flush draw, just annoys me how good he runs + how bad he plays.

Thoughts on sizing? Vil is something like 50/0. Obviously I got lucky that he hit the Q but I was planning to overbet the river as I didn't think vil is ever folding a K:

PartyGaming - $0.02 NL - Holdem - 7 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 4

BTN: $1.77
Hero (SB): $2.37
BB: $2.11
UTG: $0.54
UTG+1: $3.77
MP: $2.30
CO: $0.86

Hero posts SB $0.01, BB posts BB $0.02

Pre Flop: (pot: $0.03) Hero has 7 7

fold, UTG+1 calls $0.02, fold, fold, fold, Hero raises to $0.08, fold, UTG+1 calls $0.06

Flop: ($0.18, 2 players) Q 7 K
Hero bets $0.13, UTG+1 calls $0.13

Turn: ($0.44, 2 players) Q
Hero bets $0.31, UTG+1 raises to $0.62, Hero raises to $2.16 and is all-in, UTG+1 calls $1.54

River: ($4.76, 2 players) 5

Spoiler:
UTG+1 shows 8 Q (Three of a Kind, Queens) (Pre 45%, Flop 2%, Turn 16%)
Hero shows 7 7 (Full House, Sevens full of Queens) (Pre 55%, Flop 98%, Turn 84%)
Hero wins $4.53

And I'm going to get a post-it note next to my laptop saying 'don't play J6!'. Preflop is because BB is a nit and BTN is a fish with a limp-call stat of 0 over 7 samples. Postflop seems standard.

Both those hands play themselves, you did fine.

And results from my hand below:

Spoiler:
SB shows 9 J (Two Pair, Jacks and Nines)
Hero shows K J (Two Pair, Kings and Jacks)
Hero wins $3.90

like I said, extremely aggro postflop

I guess his 77% AFq makes it more likely he doesn't have the flush when he checks the river, since he would bet it for value.
Of course he probably would've raised again anyway if I bet (LOL TWO PEARS, RAIZ KTHX!) and I'd fold the winner.

I had another go tonight. Went up and was back to even on the day. Thinking about quitting and then some beats came. Feeling frustrated I kept going, managed to make it back + a little more. Feels nice to finally win even if it's a token sum.

Tilts me bad...I didn't even want to 4bet it but thought I had to. Soon as villain donks flop I think "omg, he's got KKxx" and he didn't, but still got there vs me 68% for me, my odds a bit better as I have some of villain's outs.

So annoying....I was just trying to iso the short stack. I didn't really want to get in 100bb pre with KKxx. As it turns out I did and I was feeling pretty good on the turn. A on the river I'm 49% favourite pre. 55% on turn.

Biggest hand of the session at € tables. Playing deep with ds KKxx. I hit 2nd nut flush draw + backdoor draw and a K is good for me. I feel sick but I decide to get it in and pray I don't get shown AAxx with diamonds covered or a hand which has me in terrible shape. I was in pretty good shape but just hoped they wouldn't make 2 pair or some ugly beat for me to moan about but fortunately I ran good.

Same villain actually, I ran pretty good vs him. I turned the nuts and nothing bad happened after that. Managed to get a nice river bet on and get called by 2nd nuts.

A bit more run good and things should be going better (hopefully)

So i decided to come back to poker only last week, had 10$ on pokerstars. Today bankroll $101 playing solely 5nl zoom poker. Super happy with how I'm playing and of course I'm running quite well. However the 2 biggest pots I've played both I've been sucked out on (KK vs QJ aipf for 20$ and floped flush vs ace high flush draw and he got there for 22$).

Undecided weather to take a shot at 10nl, ill take a shot if i get to $150 by the end of the week.

My goal for June:
Play 150k hands at ZoomNL25, 6 max
Make at least $2000
I will post here at the end of month on how this goes.
06-05-2012 , 09:08 PM
Copy/paste from ice_wolf thread, aren't these 2 threads the same now I think about it?

May Results

Didn't set any goals because of far too many RL issues that I know would cause problems. Played nearly 40k hands of 5nl zoom for a decent profit (~$100) so it worked well.

June Goals

[ ] Play 60k hands of NLHE
[ ] Move up to 10NL Zoom
[ ] Branch out of NLHE eg. Play 1000 PLO8 hands
[x] Finally use my depositor freeroll ticket that's been sitting for over a week. (Used, cashed for 32c. Baller)

^ffs, I can't play against those guys that value KJo enough to stack of pre with.
I'm thinking QQ+, or AK are the only hands villains shove/call shove pre with, but I guess I'm wrong.
06-06-2012 , 05:21 PM
It helped a lot that he was running 70/40.

Dude, nice avatar.
Did you just add that?

I've seen a guy stack off 70bb with 63s.

Indeed I did. I'm something of a fanatic.

Probably something to do with us both being residents of the grim old north.

My plans for June are:

- Play 20 hours of $2 nlhe

- Hopefully win or breakeven

Got absolutely stomped Some fish on my left ran **** hot too which didn't help things. It's so crushing to play a game like this. I don't know what to do, my roll goes up with the rakeback and down with the play until I have some hot run. But then I can't seem to maintain it. It really does feel like a waste of time. Maybe I should move to PLO20 and just run hot there and play disciplined. I'm not sure where to go from here. Just need to get some consistent luck.

One of the hands which did work out. I bet flop with overpair + flush draw + backdoor flush draw. I bet turn with 2 flush draws. I didn't think villain was likely to have been drawing to a backdoor nut flush so I called.

I despair at this stuff sometimes. Yes I got a lucky turn, but look how little I had to put in. Get it in as a huge favourite and then 2 outer on the river

*puke* I obviously flopped the nuts and the fish with just a crap flush draw calls off and hits. Unbelievable....

Really?......I have AAxx. I thought turn was great. How wrong was I....

Silly me for not putting them on quads Seems like when it rains, it ****s all over me.

I was feeling a little tilted by this stage. Decided to 3bet in position and called the 4bet as my hand can play pretty well. I obviously flopped the nuts for stacking off and missed it all

One of the big pots which did work out, at the € tables too.

**** I was so tilted at this point. I put in 60+bb with my hand. In fairness I did have blockers and double suited. I flopped the nuts and just hoped I wasn't up against AA or a flush draw. I wasn't! It was all looking so good and then I got stomped.

1st hand- Did you limp QQ8K double suited UTG? Seems like a loose limp.
2md hamd- Looks like your limping alot of junky QQxK double suited hands utg.. is there a reason for it( I'm curious because I've just begun studying the game)
3rd hand- again seems like a loose call of a 4 BET!!! Was that guy 4betting alot? And if so, how does this hand do vs a loose 4betting range. I would think not well( but dont know obv).. disgusting river.. but it is PLO4.. lolz at PLO4/5..
4th hand- gross, but you played it pretty standard
5th hand- gross, but the bet on the flop seems sort of marginal.. I mean, what if you get raised? I think you are better off c/c and hoping to improve.. When you bet here, I think that the only worse hand calling here is a smaller set, and when he checks turn then I think he either has a weaker flush or a smaller set alot of the time because his range is capped. Although if hes bad, I gues he would slowplay the nut/ flopped flush here but I don't think most players at 4nl/5nl would do that so I would say the nut flush is a small part of his range( allthough, relative hand strength wise it wouldn't matter what flush he had here obv) That makes the river interesting because if HES COMPETANT. He's really only calling with with quads and Tens full when you shove the river( unless he somehow turned a set, which is probably pretty unlikely. Regardelss, I think if he's competant he's folding bottom full house on the river if he views you as competant/ not spewy). Not sure vs that range I'm happy putting alot of money in the pot on the river. If that seems a bit nitty please give me feedback becaue I am a nit lol I know that sounds crazy with the nut full house but I think relative hand strength wise your not crushing his range on the river in this spot

I didn't read the other hands because you said you were getting tilted and I'm lazy

Frustrating session last night.
Only 2 tabling, but games were a lot mor aggro than normal.
Pretty much every time I entered a pot I was 3bet.
If I opened raised 6c, I was 3bet 20c (to call). If I iso raised a limper, same.
One time I limped behind 3 limpers from the button with T9, and BB popped it to like 30c.
I think I folded 100% to 3bet because I didn't have a hand I wanted to 4bet with or put 26c in with a hand like ATs.
Felt a bit like a passive nit but probably saved me tilting off my stack in the long run.
Was around 4 or 5 villains doing this across 2 tables.
All had stats of 30-40 vpip, so a really premium hand would have been way ahead of their range.

First decent session this month didn't go to plan.
Pretty much flat line graph, except for two hands.
1st one, I don't think anyone would fold Ks pre, but when they shove your 4bet it's bad news.
Okay, sometimes it's Js or AJ.
