I would have learned discipline when it comes to my mentality.. learn when to quit sooner.. know when to take a shot.. know when to drop down sooner.. know when to take breaks and know when to play through rough stretches... I'd learn how to really approach the game so I can improve.

Er i would of signed with rakeback, errrrr i would of waited and depsosited 1000$ in one go and play .5/1 as if i have nothing to loose which would probably make me play better

sign up for rakeback and deposit the max amount for the first deposit bonuses. i would also manage my bankroll and not move up in stakes when i am on tilt.

Amen. I feel like the guy in line for the club and the bouncer just let everyone in and then latched the velvet rope right in front of me.

Oh, and I would have made sure I start every session by blaring Lady GaGa's "Poker Face" real loud on the stereo. This is the only true thing that can make you a winner at online poker.

Easy. Start playing 5-6 years ago, as opposed to a year ago. Feel like i've missed the golden age.

This x1000.

Also,

-practiced better bankroll management
-stayed away from FT until my game was better
-stayed away from Rush until my game was MUCH better
-deposited the max on FT to get the max bonus once I joined FT (this goes for Stars too fwiw)
-not drank while playing, especially at live events/donkaments
-read the Harrington books before playing my first tournament
-read Sklansky's books before playing my first hand
-gotten coaching sooner
-bothered to write my congressman and encouraged others to do the same before UIGEA was passed
-never assumed that AT, K9, Q9 and J9 were playable so often in early position

Nothing, I'm solid IMO.

Actually listen to advice people tell me on these forums instead of dismissing some of it thinking "I'm good at poker!" or "Bah they are nits for folding QJo UTG in a full ring game!"

Took me a while to realise that I basically sucked and was staying afloat just because of luck.

Same as this . I don't play on FT for this reason. I opened mine in 2006 before I even knew about rakeback .

-Create a strong network of knowledgeable Poker friends to discuss strategy with.
-Stop wasting time with friends that are not interested in improving their game

I totally disagree with the SnG & MTT haters. I would have stayed away from cash games. I would spend more times on the forums meeting people too, I had no support for a long time.

I'd have taken up Yoga or something to stop the gigantic meltdowns.

I opened mine around then but if you aren't tied to an affiliate (email them and ask) they may set you up with rakebackpros.

1. Discovered the game during the glory days of Party
2. Discovered the game during the glory days of Party
3. Found 2+2 from the beginning... too many BS books out there!!!
4. Took a rakeback offer on FTP or signed up directly instead of through a BS referral site who do sweet FA for the rake i give 'em... "They promised me 200% on my 1st deposit which was not honoured!!! " (obv still not worth it!)

Play more. Especially, play more even when it wasn't 100% perfect conditions

Rather than obsessively accumulating poker books, do more playing and post more hands on 2p2.
