I was reading a thread of a guy playing 25NL in party poker complaining about bots or whatever, and had a shower thought kind of thing after a while.

How would affect the ecosystem/pools if sites added an option to "block" players?

For example,in regular tables, you could see your "blocked" players tables in the lobby, but you wouldn't be allowed to sit , unless you unlock them (and, same way,the blocked player would not be able to seat in your table).

On zoom type tables, the blocked players won't also be sitting at your same tables.

Like that, the guy could had blocked the bots/rta players, good regs etc..

I guess bum hunting issues, rake, killing action, more possibilites for collusion etc would be some negative factors but anyway I open debate if anybody wants to expose their point of view.

Because everyone would just block all better players and no games would ever run as a result

So I can block all crushers and none of them is allowed to sit at my table anymore? Sounds good to me..

A better idea would be a report button, where you can report players for being bots and then the people running the software actually look into it and ban those that are bots.

re report button, it also doesn't make much sense - vast majority of players are losing and those players are no able to identify bot-like characteristics. Players with enough ability to identify potential bots correctly also tend to have enough financial interest in poker to be motivated to report players via normal means (email).

giving a report button would simply results in recreational players sending thousands of bot reports because someone sucked out on them or had a similiar screen name to another player, which would be just noise and counter productive to finding actual bots

The report button can literally be that, an email address on a website to report it to. I wasn't suggesting making it a right click -> report type thing. More that the company does something about bots.
