Live casino play. Let's say your at a table and nothing is going right. None of your bluffs get through, your not getting any hands, your playable hands never hit anything, but there are players at the table who have money and they love to play hands.

If the cards are running you over, do you guys just tough it out or do you jump to another table even though there is some good action going on?

What about a table where you are getting out played but there is good action?

Are you implying you can get better cards at a different table?

Good table, bad cards...tough it out or go home because you are considering changing to a potentially worse table to break a run of bad luck. Fish thinking.

You say that you are at a table where players "have money and they love to play hands" but at the same time you wonder why "none of your bluffs get through". Why would that be?

It's more like if you are getting run over at a table, would you consider going to a different table?

There are valid table dynamics that would say a table move is desirable. Not making hands on an action table is a poor reason to move.

Define what this means to you.

Only way I am moving tables at a casino is if it is full of tight regs that aren't having fun or people are constantly arguing. When I first started playing, I HATED moving tables because I felt like I was settled in or whatever reason I could think of. Now, I can sit at a table for one round and know if this is where I want to be.

You want to be at a table where people have money and want to play every hand and are drinking and having a good time, regardless of the cards you are getting. If your bluffs aren't getting through, stop bluffing. You stack people like that by starting the hand with a better hand, and when you both hit something, your something being better. Sometimes it happens in an hour, sometimes you have to sit there for 6 before the cards turn. But trying to force hands through is not the way to make money. Speaking from experience here. lol

I guess it would be getting outplayed by people who play 90+% of hands.

I try to play an extremely tight range against players like this and when I flop something good, just go bet, bet, bet. Unfortunately, after sitting there for hours, you either don't get dealt anything worth playing or don't hit anything. Bluffing seems like -EV against these players.

Bluffing isn't as important as some people think it is. You are not entitled to beat bad players. If you are frustrated by not getting any playable hands, then you should know that changing seats or tables has zero correlation with the quality of hands you will be dealt in the future.

I will literally fold 100 hands in a row if I have to. If you can't do that, you might not have the mental toughness to be a winning poker player.

Change tables if you would rather play with the people on another table, assuming that you would get the same hands regardless of which table you are at.

Once you get past extremely basic poker knowledge, the next most important thing that you need to beat live poker is patience and discipline.

It's something that anyone should be able to do because it requires zero skill but the inability to manage this is the reason that plenty of internet young guns get crushed at live cash and also why terribad ancient nitregs who think raising QQ UTG is getting pretty frisky can grind out a small winrate.

Identifying profitable game conditions is important. In poker both you and your opponents can show up with varying skill levels, so maximizing the time when you are playing good and your opponents are playing poorly is critical. For people who play online, where you can leave and join tables ad infinitum being aware of when it is time to go is even more important. When should you leave?

Looseness vs tightness. If everyone at the table is playing tight, it is time to go. You want to play against loose players, because their weak hands before the flop will usually translate into weak hands after the flop.

If you have been losing. When you have been losing a lot your opponents will be inspired to play better against you.

Aggressive players on your left. Having really aggressive players on your left is frustrating, even if they are so loose as to be really good for the game. You want the aggressive players on your right.

Lots of good poker reasons posted here either to move or NOT to move. Truth is, most low stakes tables turn over very fast so the dynamic that is bothering you is usually / often short term. Moving is often just a move to another problem situation very soon. Now if you are sitting next to some person who smells like a catbox , moving to a different seat/table is positive to most folks.

If my chip stack has not appreciably changed in an hour based on solid play, I am not recognizing what I need to change at that table to exploit the players. If I’ve bought in twice and been felted when I got it in good, I’ll buy in again; if I got it in bad, I’m not playing my A/B game and it’s time to go.

Today I was at a $1/2 table with a guy who has a 100% range and a few tells. He sucked me out for about $800. I followed him to the $2/5 table and left with $3700. I didn’t change tables because I was losing. I changed tables because I knew I’d been getting it in good and it would come around.

The first table, enough has been said already.
If you feel you're getting run over, table is too tough for you, yes.
Change tables. I do it all the time.
No shame in it.

i change when i look around and see that the conditions are not favorable for me to make what i think i can per hour at some other table.

you have to understand all the parameters that may make your particular table bad for you.
