How to have better luck at FT

I've made few fts this week, all ended up in 6th, 4th...3rd...never make the champion..all comes down to short stack being busted by bad beats...

Any tips to be more aggressive and accumulate chips?

What I meant the more important is mid stage? At what point to start 3betting more check raise with what kind of stack..20bb? 30bb+?

You've final tabled three times this week and you're still complaining? Jesus. If you want to be more aggressive, try pressing raise randomly when you would press something else otherwise. It works sometimes!

I wouldn’t change too much. You can’t win every tournament you play..

The questions you ask: At what point to start 3betting more check raise with what kind of stack..20bb? 30bb+? Those are all good questions, but will not really provide an answer to your question. You provided no context to your 3 FTs.

Having more chips is good, getting lucky is better. Even skilled players need a lot of luck to come out on top in any single tournament, even after making a FT where stacks are short and it's about winning flips. (If you gii for 20BB KK vs AQs, that is not a flip per se, but what is a flip is whether you have the KK or the AQs, since both are clear shoves.)

If you said you'd played 1000 180-man SnG, cashed 150 times, made 50 FT, and had no 1st, we'd have some data to work with.

Start 3 bet shoving at 20-30BB against other 20BB+ stacks.

either get it in with you have 20%-40% chance of winning a 50BB pot or 50% chance of winning a a 20BB pot.
id prefer the 50BB pot over the 20BB pot.

Obviously the big money is at top 2 place. I want to maximize winning by spending so many hours...

It's a gambling game; it's a mind game; it's a card game that we play with our hands. You gotta find that middle ground where you're consistently getting into profitable situations and consistently avoiding unprofitable situations, all while maintaining a sound mind.

Re: How to have better luck at FT

all poker players need to strive to move up in stakes as life expenses will eventually out run you and leave you broke. unless you are playing high enough to put away substantial money for investments.
we do that by not only learning more, but also by eliminating our bad habits in the game and in life which can affect your game or bankroll.
if you live day to day you are toast.
