How can i learn about my winrate if i tracked all the wins and all the losses?
Playing cashgames, could one figure out the bb/100 or the total amount wagered for ROI from info about the win/loss amounts?

Thanks

How do you think bb/100 is derived?

bb/100 is used in cash games, ROI for tournaments.
ROI: sum of win/sum of BIs*100 gives you return of investment in percents. Ofc anything above 100 means profit.

bb/100 is how much you won or lost in big blinds per 100 hands.
bb/100 = (cash won - cash lost)/number of hands*100 .

The more conventional definition is

ROI =[(Sum of Wins - Sum of BI's)/Sum of BI's] * 100

so anything above 0% means profit.

+1 above for tournaments ... money out - money in = profit ... then profit/money in = 'Rate of Investment' .. just like a stock ... Buy a share of stock for $100, sell for $105 later .. 5% return on investment. Some tournament players will also calculate an hourly rate from their profit for a different 'real world' perspective. When looking at the stock example, how long did you own the stock? 1 year, OK return ... 5 years, not so great.

For cash games you divide your 'profit' by the BB and then by the hours (live) or 100 hands played to get the most common indicator ... 1/2 live cash game ... profit over 20 hours is $400 (thus 200bb). Player is making a rate of 10bb/hour, which is good (certainly above average) but not great in most circles. GL

If you're playing live, using bb/hour (or $/hour) is a better metric, as it's hard to keep track of exactly how many hands you've been dealt.

To build on this-bb/100 is better used as an online metric since you might be multi-tabling and it is easier to get accurate stats on exactly how many hands you played. Live, it is easier to track how long you have been playing. Most dealers do between 25 and 35 hands an hour (depending on table size, and players), so you can just estimate your hourly rate at 30 hands an hour and convert between bb/100 hands and bb/hour
