It's obviously a mistake to call at pseudo-GTO frequencies against tighter-than-GTO opponents.
In high rake games, if people should call tighter vs steal, then we should steal looser, right?
On sites like 888 for example, the rake structure is amazingly different from small stakes to high stakes because the cap limit doesn't change much (
https://www.888poker.com/poker-softw...mits-and-rake/) :
Table Limit:5¢/10¢-$1-$2
No. of Players Rake per Pot MAX
2 1¢ for each 20¢ in Pot $1
3+ 1¢ for each 20¢ in Pot $4
Table Limit: $2-$4 through $4-$8
No. of Players Rake per Pot MAX
2 1¢ for each 20¢ in Pot $1
3 1¢ for each 20¢ in Pot $2.5
4-10 1¢ for each 20¢ in Pot $4
Table Limit: $5/$10 through $25/$50
No. of Players Rake per Pot MAX
2-3 1¢ for each 20¢ in Pot $2.5
4-10 1¢ for each 20¢ in Pot $5
Table Limit: $50/$100
No. of Players Rake per Pot MAX
2-10 1¢ for each 100¢ in Pot $10
So I think this would drastically change the steal and defense strategies from 6max NL10 (5% capped at
40bb) to NL200 (5% capped at
2bb) or NL1000 (5% capped at
0.5bb) for example.
Such a change would obviously completely modify the postflop frequencies as well in those spots.
