There's plenty of reviews/info about HEM1, so I'll just cover the new stuff

Vs Hero
This is pretty good. You can click on a villain while playing to see several key stats broken down into 'total' and 'vs hero', so you can see if someone plays back at you a lot (e.g. their 3bet% is 5, but vs you it's 8).

HUD/Popup Designer

A nice WYSIWYG editor makes customising the HUD and popups way easier.

Mini-charts

Option to replace the hudstats with graphs, seems a bit gimmicky to me.

Opponent Line-analysis

This is pretty sick. You can take an opponent and then do all sorts of filters on their lines. So, if you want to know what hands a particular reg takes a bet-check-bet line, this will tell you. You can go really deep on this in the specific Opponents tab, but rightclicking a player at the table brings up a scary amount of info. If villain cbets an acehigh flop, I can rightclick and bring up a piechart of what sort of hands he cbets on that sort of board.. does he check back TPWK? does he fire with JJ? Now I know.

iphone app

Seems gimmicky, maybe will improve with updates. Probably cool if you tweet HHs.

HM Sync

Let's you upload your database to HM servers. Really useful if you play on multiple computers.

Widgets, HMTV

Mostly RSS feeds of poker news, good if you're a NVG'er, but otherwise probably not that useful.

New stats

The amount of new stats is pretty unbelievable, though I wouldn't say that there's any real game-changers, but pretty much everything is covered (if you REALLY need to know how often UTG 4bets vs SB squeeze I think there's a stat for it )

In summary, HEM2 is pretty awesome. There's some new stuff that's kinda pointless and superficial, but the line-analysis tools and the improved HUD & popup designer makes it worth upgrading for.

I'm surprised that the price is still the same. Is HM2 supposed to be better than HM?

One more question, has any of you tried to get it for free? is it worth the hassle?

PT4 will be the nuts when it finally gets released. Good things come to those that wait

HM2 is better than HM. I got mine for free via cardrunners deal, was no hassle.

The release version ?

I had HEM2 beta, but it was so slow and missed so many hands I only used it 3 times.

This feature sounds pretty scary if I understand correctly what it does. Can you do this while you're in a hand? Curious when HEM will cross the line and PS/other sites will ban HEM?!

Yeah it works while in a hand, though if you're doing it a ton you're going to have timebank issues.

Did they add any useful stats?

I want to see stats that tells me how often a player folds to a bet on the turn when they raised PF, cbet flop and now checked. What % of the time are they folding to a bet here?
Or a river bluff frequency stat. What % of the time do they bet with river with a hand weaker then 2nd pair?

A bunch of those type of stats would interest me.

Yep, they have this exact stat 'skipped turn cb and [x] oop' where [x] is c/c, c/r, or fold. They also have all the similar stats in the same area you'd expect e.g. skipping cbet on flop, turn, river, ip, oop

Line analysis cover this sort of thing.

I am a former HEM user who left very unhappy over they way they handled an upgrade and the way their support failed me. So idk if I could even consider HEM so long as there are other options. I currently use PT3.

In full disclosure: I promised them when I gave up on them that I would give them as much word of mouth advertising as I thought they deserved, this post is a continuation of that promise.

The Current Holdem Manager 2 is a beta version. It doesn't work properly in different occasions. I would not recommend anyone to buy it at this stage.

I'd say it's still alpha - it hardly works at all and it's incredibly sluggish.
It's amazing they think it's ready to launch next week.

That's why I asked earlier ITT. I have only run the beta so far, but it was truly truly unusable

Seems a shame, because the promised functionality seems worthwhile.

I got today's version and it froze after only a minute of use. Not something I'd consider paying for yet, and so unlikely it'll be ready in just a week. Even though they're having daily builds and are obviously working hard, it's a lot worse than it was a month ago.

HM2 is working fine for me, no major issues. I was pleasantly surprised and happy that the upgrade was free.

I downloaded HEM2 today as a free upgrade after getting version 1 at a discount last month via the "Get it Free" offer.
It all looks very pretty, and there are definitely some interesting new features, but it's killing my CPU. It's gonna take a while to get used to where all my favourite old features are hiding and I'm sure I'll benefit from the upgrade, but I fear I might have to buy a new PC just so it runs at a usable speed.
I'd advise anyone contemplating the upgrade to wait a couple of weeks, not only so a few more bugs can be squished, but so they can put a day aside to learn how it all works. It took me a couple of hours to import my database and get the correct results to show up, and I missed the start of a tourney because my PC basically locked up while trying to get my old HUD setups to display correctly. :/
