Hey!
Was planning on saying that I'm a recreational player, but now that I think of I'm more of a degenerate given that 90% of my sessions were influenced by my 13+ hours work day, lack of sleep and powered back up with the help of my 2k+/month addiction to cocaine.
I'm now 6 months free of drugs & alcohol and want to reboot my poker journey.
Info/Introduction
I've saved money and moved to a peaceful environment in Spain.
Having the next 7 months of free time until I start my studies, I've decided to start studying poker and grinding (Thinking of 6 hours of play + 3 hours of study per day, 5 days per week + 1 day of study without playing)
Coming from a live 1/2 to 2/5 NLHE background (about 1.2k hours) I've decided to be starting at 5NLz and moving up the stakes for every 100k hands played coming out profitable. Bankroll is not an issue thus no pressure to climb up the stakes or being affected by downswings.
Doing the 100k+ hands on every level will grant me with more experience and provide less stressful environment for my tilt/punt issues (which I want to completely eradicate)
Given that most of my online sessions were me being a degenerate, I managed to have a +8.3bb/100 on 10NLz over 11k tracked hands and -3bb/100 on 25NLz over 19k hands.
Actual Questions
Would appreciate the help with the following :
- What is the must have poker software ( Hold'em Manager, Pio Solver, Pokersnowie etc) ?
- Which would be a good poker room to start on?
- What books would you heavily recommend as I find some highly outdated?
- Should I be hiring coaches further on?
- Preflop bible? Go with the GTO one?
Any tips that you think are helpful are welcome!
I plan on starting this December and would like to have a clearer plan once that happens.
Also plan to be heavily active on the forum so please be patient
Thank you so much for your time!
Kind regards,
Charlie.
