Hi all,

I’m sure similar has been posted a few times but I want to say where I’m at, what I know and how I can improve.

Ok so I only started playing at the beginning of the year with a few gaps in between as I have a full time job so don’t get to play constantly, I play in my spare time but just want to get better and go from there. I rarely play cash games mostly SNG’s or MTT’s as I just find them a bit more exciting.

(I play on Pokerstars but my profit is definitely in the minus but I keep buy-ins small so it’s not an issue. Biggest achievements are probably winning a 4.50 sng (100+ players) and earlier I finished 369/5966 in 5.50 buy in)

So everything I’ve learned so far has been purely from Dnegs masterclass, I understand position, ranges, pot odds, counting outs, dry/wet boards etc

The reason I’m here is I want to study the game on a deeper level and want to know where I can do it, which is the best material, is there a place I can study it online etc etc.

Any help/advice welcomed, feel free to make things idiot proof for me

Thanks!

I’m 26 and happy to study the game, I feel like at the moment I simply just don’t know enough. Where is the best place to go to study the game, what’s the best material online, a book maybe? Yeah you can watch millions of YouTube videos but for me I’m kind of looking for something that has some sort of structure, the dnegs masterclass was good but now I’ve taken away all what I can I realised really it’s probably only aimed at beginners and for people learning the game from scratch, now I want to improve more so I’m looking for something similar but more advanced. Not saying I’m gonna study and play 60+ hours a week because that’s unrealistic with a full time job but I’m keen and enjoy the studying/learning

just find hands played and read/watch how other players played the hand. mtt fourm on this site is good. spend thousands of hours doing that over many years.

Keep your play tight and see if you have the patience to play poker. If you are easily bored and have no patience then poker might not be for you?

I played and could never grind unless I took a bottle of Xanax only way I could stop getting crazy and wanting to gamble. Not sure if everyone's the same but they probably are.
