Hi guys

Would appreciate if anyone can talk some sense into me. I'm sick of losing to maniacs heads up and it's super tilting and honestly just getting under my skin.

Played a guy in a HUSNG who I remembered from a long time ago, knew he was a bit of a nut, would 5x the button, call a raise pre and shove the flop 60bbs deep, just generally annoying

He ran me over a little bit and shoved pre at about 50bbs with pocket deuces, I called with AK and hit, had him to 160 chips to my 1340. He just started shoving with any two cards and doubled up twice where I was a favorite. Then he started shoving when he had a 2-1 chip lead, I called with AK after the 10th shove in a row and he shows KK and wins the match

The game itself isn't what bothers me, it is what it is and I was a favorite in every all in, it's just absolutely tilt inducing and playing these guys in general throws me off my game and makes me play badly for the rest of the day

Any anti-tilt tips or advice you can give, send my way!

honestly the best thing is just figure out the adjustment for what theyre doing and do it.
not a simple answer.. analyze the specifics of their game

The less players you are against, the more of a nutter you can be, HU just takes the concept to its ultimate conclusion

Two things, first is you need to have a hand to go up against a crazy guy who shovels money in and hates folding, second is you need to assume some responsibility for you own mental state - you can't control other people but you can control your own actions so harden up and be an adult.

the real problem is not the player your playing. Its the fact your attached to result oriented situations feeling entitled to win. And when they suck out a lot your going to get upset. Your playing hu sng get used to it. Its very high variance game. when stacks are short there will be a ton of shoving. You might want to play 9 max or something with lower variance if it bothers you so much.

If you're folding 90% of the time in a husng then he is correct to shove with any two cards. You are being outplayed.

The mental side of poker is very important. You need to be able to 'feel' when you are getting off center and make adjustments ... including taking a break until you can come back and 'continue' to play the way that is right for you.

I believe I saw at least 2 cases of 10-1 chip count spots for WSOP bracelets this year than got turned around the other way. 'It' happens, so deal with variance or continue to have your game affected. GL

Edges in HUSNG are very small. You can't be a winning player without losing thousands of times. After all, when the villain has 30% equity, it means he will beat you 30% of the time. iburydoscocaroaches said it clearly on his answer: you are not entitled to win (at least not every time)

My best advice would be: play within your bankroll. The loss will not make you that angry if it's a loss you can afford. Indeed, you will be happy to play opponents like that. If this does not work either, try a different game like full ring MTTs, where the edges become bigger.

By the way, you were not the favourite on the first all-in!

I agree that your real problem here is not the maniac player but your feelings about the result. Maybe you should honestly answer these questions:

How often should your opponent win when they have 160 chips and you have 1340?

I'm sure you'd love to win every time you're in this spot but you won't. Roughly 1 time out of every 10 you're going to lose and you'll need to accept that. It doesn't mean you're necessarily doing anything wrong if this happens occasionally so you should focus on not letting it frustrate you.
