Totally agree here.

Imagine someone using a chart in a live game, seems completely out of line to me.
What if we replace RFI chart by push/shove chart late in a tournament for example?
I think this clearly gives an advantage over anyone not doing it.
But would I go as far as calling it unethical? Probably not.
If it's not a static chart but some kind of program that calculates something or has any form of automation in it, I would call it unethical.
I've actually had my phone out in live tournaments when short stacked to check push/fold ranges in between hands so I knew what hands to shove the next hand.
Of course I put my phone away every time before looking at the next hand.
But if I'm being honest, I'd probably consider this cheating.
Nothing anyone can ever do though, no one's watching over my shoulder and I'm allowed to be on my phone in between hands.
