Does it matter the kind of coin? Do different denominations or different currencies have different memories? Is the memory a binary thing, or doe the odds change as a linear function of time?

And I am confused. If a coin has hit heads five in a row, does the next flip come up heads because a pattern has been established, or does it come up tails because the coin has a memory and knows it has to regress to the mean?

Is there any way, other than waiting 30 minutes, to make the coin 'forget'?
