As Charlie sheen would say.. WINNING! As Charlie sheen would say.. WINNING!

Hi everyone,

Didn't know what to name this topic, so yeah

I am wanting to know, more specifically in this beginners thread, how are people doing in respect to winning and results.

I see my self as a beginner but I am studying in spare time to improve. I would like to know how long it took everyone to improve their game and how, also what were your biggest weaknesses in the game that flawed your play.

I can see that in other posts people are getting results through on like their first couple of tournaments.

My first tournament win was in a live game in my local casino, which 1st prize included £500 and free buy ins worth £500 too (so basically won £1000) all for a buy in of £35.00.

Since then I have cashed online for only around £150-200 for tournaments ranging like 8+ hours.

I'd love to know if anything clicked in players heads that made them consistent winners? Due to my jobs I've had I have been restricted to play which has been a pain in the ass as I love poker.

Sorry for rambling on and look forward to seeing the responses

There is a very widespread quote in poker, nobody knows who said it first, but it goes something like

"If you don't think you sucked 6 months ago, you haven't been working hard enough"

Sure, stuff "clicks", but that's never the end of it. You keep improving by leaps and bounds. This quote has held true for me over six years. I have had dozens of "click" moments.

And with the nature of the game and variance, you never really know you're a consistent winner until you are way past that point

So uh don't use results as a measuring stick I guess. Just keep learning.
