I enjoy the aspect of more hands per hour, but am not a fan of going in without a read. Is this something I should just ignore and grind out zoom until I have a ridiculous sample size and hands on most players?

What did you do?

I guess I'm not a "grinder," as I play online more for training than for money, but I much prefer fast tables. I like going in without reads and trying to play solid theoretical poker. Also, I like only being able to play a few tables rather than trying to navigate a bunch at once, but my screen is kind of small...

Lol at saying zoom is without a read, everyone classifying themselves as a "grinder" gets 99% of their reads from databases, and you get bigger databases by playing more hands in a shorter time, i.e. by playing zoom

Oh, I play on ignition where you have no idea who anybody is. I didn't realize you could track people on other sites outside of the regular tables.

If he's saying Zoom I assume he's referring to Stars, as everyone outside the US like the OP seem to gravitate to the worst sites to play on for reasons unknown

i used to play only zoom once for multiple years since it first came out, but now with no milestones or rakeback i guess bumhunting reg tables is superior bc volume doesnt matter anymore. however i havent played any online cash at stars in a while so i really dunno how the games actually r at the moment.

If you're playing without a HUD, zoom can be good for getting good at reading pretty straight forward ranges. Most people that are 100bb deep and more than one table are at least semi competent and have an actual range from pos to pos, its way more about looking for the obvious signs of fishyness, short stacks, strange bets, obvious draws, if you're playing micros its literally prob more +ev to fold to every river raise and bet that happens on an action card,. Zoom is technical, and in smaller pools you'll get to know people, but its a great thing if you positive bb/100 ,

Personally I think the information I loose with the table dynamics changing everyhand doesnt outweigh the volume, when I play normal tables and adjusting much better v the people im playing against, v their postion, style etc. It just seems more obvious what people are up to.

think if ur learning stick to normal tables to get used to exploiting people
