I guess my question is how did YOU get your BR up over 1000? And then what did you do
Depends on your strengths.
If you feel you are a stronger cash game player then I would most certainly play cash. If you have had great success in STT's I would recommend those. You could also play the $3 180's on Stars if you prefer to play MTT's.
MTT's and SNG's are higher variance than cash unless you are absolutely crushing the games.
I'd recommend adhering to at least a 150 BI BR requirement for MTT's. 100 minimum for STT's and even that is not enough at the $10+ level in my personal opinion.
If you are going to play cash, depending on how many tables you play (1 at a time, 10 at a time, 24 at a time?) I'd recommend 40-50 buy-ins until you reach NL50 and then, personally, I'd want 75-100 buy-ins.
If you are a winning player, practice decent BRM, and are willing to put in the volume and don't tilt during bad swings, then you can easily turn your $480 into $1000. I stress the winning player aspect of that, as far as I can tell, based on your PTR stats, you are not.
It looks like most of your time has been spent playing STT's and/or MTT's. Stick to this if it suits you, but be sure to keep plenty of buy-ins behind.
I'm playing $2.25's on tilt atm trying to renew my BR (took 1.5 years off online poker and a lot has changed in STT's since I last played). I'm hopefully wrapping up a 50 buy-in down swing over the last 300 games, so don't be discouraged when things go against you.
If you are willing to jump around stakes more, feel free to take some shots with only 40 or so buy-ins for a particular STT stake, I would not recommend that for MTT's though.
