Can I profitably double barrel this turn? Can I profitably double barrel this turn?

Reviewing the hand I now I'm not sure whether it's a fold pre, I 3bet based on his 42% ATS but with only 98 hands sample. Hero is playing 20/16/9.

As played, is the turn a good card to double barrel? Frankly I made the play but wasn't entirely sure whether it was +EV, lacking understanding of how much of the Buttons range contains an A (I'm pretty sure we can rep it here alot of the time; but what % of his range includes it also?).

I know he can float often on this board not giving me much credit. I'm just unsure how often he floats without the A.

Please be gentle!

call and then check the flop folding to any bet.
Why are you betting the flop OUT OF POSITION with almost No Equity

when you 3 bet him and he called things like 99 TO QQ as well as AJs AQs are All in his range.
Your Flop bet is Bad and your turn bet is nothing short of Horrendous.

100% fold pre. Post flop on one hand he rarely folds to a flop bet but on the other bluffing with this combo shouldn't be horrible either. The turn obviously hits your 3bet range but should also hit his floating range. I think in game I'd just x/f the flop because I'd realize the 3bet wasn't the best and I wouldn't want to compound that, but I can also see a double barrel possibly working against someone with a working fold button.

I agree with everyone here, but just to clarify and add a bit more detail, If youre 3 betting JTo then continuing on this flop, youre probably barreling far too much on these kinds of boards and that makes you very exploitable

Thanks to you all. On reflection clearly not my finest hour but now I have clear reasoning.

Appreciated.

42% opening from the button? jt still better to flat. Then you can check call or check raise flop then lead out turn or check flop lead out on turn, simply because he opening 42% and collect % deadmoney. 3b your trash hands and premiums, then adjust to a stronger range if he cont calling your 3b.

Double barrel once you know how he plays vrs your different lines on different boards when you think it will work.

3-betting isn't great. (Use suited hands, primarily, as villain will peel in position pretty often). When faced by a 2.2x BTN open, it's a pretty clear call pre.

The ace is a pretty good barreling card for you. You'll typically be planning to fire the river too, as you'll need to do that to get him off 99 and other one pair hands. He'll have an ace sometimes, but you've got to bluff with something and JT/T9s seem like fairly good candidates.

I think hero should fold preflop since BB is still to act.
hero probably has 20% equity at this point on flop.
easy check fold.

if he had J T then yeah that's a good spot to bet on the flop. turn is a easy check fold for both JTo,s or JT of hearts.

You’re seriously suggesting to c/f the turn with a flush draw?

If we play the hand the way we do up until the turn, that’s actually a decent card to bet again and go for the triple barrel. We have AK in our range, villain doesn’t.
