Call or fold? Call or fold?

Hello!
I'm new here and I'm starting to play and study poker.

I was studying about odds, pot odds and EV calculation, I found a hand that left me with a doubt and I would like you guys to help me with this question.

HERO A 6

FLOP 4 3 9 TURN 5

POT: $1247

VILLAN was all in $2399

What is the best action here? call or fold?

the person who was explaining said that it was a clear call, but... I realized that despite having 18 outs (considering the cards to complete OESDraw and flush draw and 3 aces) the equity was 39,10%, pot odds were approximately 40%
and calculating the expected value is $-41. So I came to the conclusion that folding is the best action in this situation.

Am I right?

I'm sorry if you guys had any problems to understand, I'm also learning the English language and I'm doing my best to improve
thank you for the patience.

It depends on a ton of things. Perceived image of villain, positions, preflop action, flop action, whether it's cashgame or tournament, how much chips you have left, just to mention a few.

As was said above, this depends on a lot of things.

But lets look at how many outs you really have.

Yes - 18 cards improve your hand and you are getting correct odds to call IF all your outs are clean. They aren't.

If Villain has any A, your Ace outs lose you the pot (unless he has exactly A6 in which case you chop). If he has a set you lose if the river is 3 or 4

You have 13 clean outs vs a set, and that's not enough to give you correct pot odds to call.

Bottom line is we need to see the action to this point and some understanding of villain's tendencies to answer the question accurately.
