Ultimately, I only cashed in 1 game - 6th place, and I'm now back to the $6 I started the day with. Wasted a couple of hours of my life though.
Anyway, I tried to note down my finishing hands for as many games as I could
KQ <AK (flop K high and I bet, he pushed. Dunno why but I was sure he was drawing so I called. Was v.bad so early on)
AA < KQ (early on Q high flop - he hit)
KK < AA (pre-flop, but he had re-raised which I should have realised = AA)
27 < Q7 (my BB, flop was 7s7d10s, I bet, he pushed, I called)
A9 < KJ (push from sb with roughly 8xbb)
K9 < Q7 (push from sb with roughly 6xbb)
J8 < KQ (I was sb, cards soooted so I limped. 8Qx flop - I pushed - bad play)
A5 < AQ (flop A56, I puish, he calls, turn 10, river 10, meh)
AK < AQ (I push pre and was called by his AQ and bbs 95. Flop KQx, turn x, river Q, meh)
Can't remember the other finishing hand, but probably badly played

What was the action? I avoid KQ a lot, unless I figure to be ahead of the guy's range, or it's suited and I'm getting good odds.

Variance sucks like a mofo.

Everybody repeat after me. I WILL NOT EVER FOLD KK PREFLOP. There, everyone's a better player now if you follow that. I swear only 25% of the time I've gotten in PF and thought I had KK vs. AA, it's been AA. The rest of the time, AK, QQ, JJ, AQ, something ******ed.

Pretty standard plays, imo. Coolers suck.
J8 < KQ (I was sb, cards soooted so I limped. 8Qx flop - I pushed - bad play)
Did it fold to you? Push or fold. Don't limp. Pushing postflop if you're not push/folding preflop is ugly on that flop. Too coordinated, too many hands fit that range.
A5 < AQ (flop A56, I puish, he calls, turn 10, river 10, meh)
Preflop action? If you're not pushing in the cutoff or later with A5, fold it. You can call a raise if it's suited, you're in position, and getting good odds and are deep enough to have implied odds. Otherwise, don't call with it.

Stop getting coolered man!
It looks like a lot of people are playing the 45's to build BR's. I think they're an excellent way to do it. You just have to be rolled enough to survive the suckouts and not play scared.
- Doubling up early on isn't important. I've had a huge stack early many times, but once the blinds hit, it doesn't mean a thing.
- Search the forums for pushbot charts. Once you're down to 15BB, you need to push any hand you're playing.
- Play to win, not just making the cash. The first couple payout spots suck bad. 2x, 3x the BI. Go for 1st, and be happy hitting 2-3. So when it's getting down to the final table, you need to be aggressive. Even if you're in 1st and have a good stack, once the blinds start going up and you're shorthanded, your stack will dwindle. Keep building it. Watch how the table plays, if they play really timid, push a lot.
I wish I had a PXF sub, I'd host my win from last week as an example of that. I overcame a 7:1 chip deficit headsup by being aggressive and won, in 10 hands.
