Which is the better rake structure? Which is the better rake structure?

Curious betwixt the two rake structures below which is "more fair" and "more beatable"?

1/3 live NL with a 10% rake capped @ $6

600NL 6 max with a 5% rake capped @ $18 w/ 30% rakeback

I know both are egregiously high and before anyone can troll about "more beatable" please assume an equal skill level

I'll reply if you promise to stop bumping your own thread.

"Fair" means nothing without context. As long as the rake is known beforehand and not indiscriminately applied to specific players, its "fair", even at 99%.

"More Beatable" depends on how big the average pot is in each game. If the average pot of the 10% rake game is over $120 and the average pot of the 5% rake is under $120, then the 10% game is better. Otherwise its the 5% game.

I am in no way a rake expert, and wouldn't take the word as granted.
I've absolutely no desire to run maths on your question so I'd go with my guts.

I'd go with the 600NL

Thank you.

I don't understand the purpose of the comparison. Are you trying to decide which game to play? Which game to offer?

Is the 600NL 3|6? Relative to each games BB the 5% game is much, much better rake-wise, although it's possible you'll end up paying more rake in dollars.

Thanks for responses, this has been an ongoing debate with a group of us. I was always on team 600NL as the better structure. And yes, I have the option to play both but regularly choose the online game over the 1/3 live game. Thanks for the input!

Unless I'm missing something, the 600NL game has a much better system. The rake percentage is literally half as much, and you're getting rakeback as well.

Where does an online game have an equal skill level to 1|3 live?

The percentage is half as much but the possible total rake is three times as big.
You hit the cap at $60 in the 1/3 but don't hit the 600NL cap until the pot's over $360.
