Best way to build a bankroll for returning player? Best way to build a bankroll for returning player?

I am coming back to poker from a long hiatus and deposited $100 on True Poker via bitcoin.

Any recommendations on best games to get back into the grind and build a small roll?

So far I have played some 2NL, break-even over a few thousand hands, seems to be full of regs even at this level (or I just suck).
Played a few SNGs last night as well, seem to be decent players at the $1 & $3 game.

I used to play SNGs in the past and was profitable but nothing crazy (maybe a ~5% roi).

Global Poker seems really soft, but I'm not sure how much money I am comfortable loading on this site as it is probably a matter of time before they get targeted by the feds.

Books I have available Harrington on cash volumes 1 and 2, and Moshman's SNG book.

Thanks for any feed back!

find the games you enjoy the most that have weak opponents, and play a bunch of hands

Realize the pokering online world has moved on and (mostly) only better players play these days. So OP....YOU need to get better in order to compete at better than breakeven.

That said, 64 has it correct. Find the games you like and play.

Thank you both for your input. I do plan to improve my game in order to compete, so will have to pick which game I like the most before busto

with 100 bucks you need to play mtts until you bink one and have a bigger roll for cash games and sngs. I would just play the micro mtts that pay good until I bink one. Sooner or later you will hit big in one but also you will cash in them enough where it should keep your bank roll from going busto to fast. With just 100 bucks id probably play 2 dollar tournies and lower. I done it from .50 cents on black friday after I cashed out off all sites and had .50 cents left on merge and built it up to 25k as a bankroll challenge. They had .10 cent sngs that I played and I was down to 20 cents then I got it up to around 100 bucks and started playing mtts binked a few of those and then went to cash games and started crushing micro blinder souls. That is what always built up my bankroll. And when you go to cash games don't bother bluffing at micros you don't need to. The villains are monkeys eating bananas or wanna be regs that over value blockers in bluffing and hero calling situations so if you play straight forward you should have no problem profiting. They will try all kinds of goofy stuff they saw Tom Dwan do on tv to feel like pros. But just play solid maybe do 1 barrel bluffs and delay cb and thats about it. Once they call they are like kid poker they just have to see it.

Stay away from MTTs with a smaller bankroll. The varience in them is cruel. Either play 2nl cash games or the lowest stakes sit and gos with smaller field sizes.

if you're a player that breakeven over few thousand hand in 2NL. You should forget about building bankroll through poker because it's not what you now are capable of. But If you really want to make some bucks from poker, find a way to improve your poker skills first.

Nowaday the internet has more than enough materials to make you a winning player, at least to 100NL maybe 200NL, if you're smart enough to digest those materials.

Encouragement is needed, not this rubbish!

OP as first mentioned in previous posts above, play the games you enjoy. It's not all about making money at these stakes! Get into a rythym of playing well and often, start reading more and thinking about your decisions when playing. This results will come but you just need to dedicate time and effort

OP, if Global poker is soft, then you're comfortable depositing the $100 on there ; )

I would just make periodic withdrawals as your bankroll grows to keep from having much more than that amount on there.

And like others have said, study to get better.

the question was about building a bankroll. not sugar coating his chances. yes if you arent winning then you need to find softer games to play in. simple as that. next step is to improve so you can beat tougher players and play higher stakes. the two go hand in hand.

it isnt going to happen by reading a couple books or reading a few posts. it is a lifestyle change to be a winner in tough games.

good luck if you stick it out.

Are you seriously asking if you need a VPN to play in a poker room called America's Cardroom if you are a US player?

They accept tons of different Crypto. I recommend depositing Ethereum over Bitcoin since the fee is much lower and quicker transaction time.

Site is tough but great for learning playing vs decent players even at the micros.

I also play on Global to play softer games. Mixing a soft site and tough site I think are a good idea.

But start at NL2 like you are, get PT4 if you haven’t, maybe sign up to a training site (I do upswing), and study! Remember study is just as important as playing. Study is a huge part of bankroll building.

Thanks. I'm glad they do cash games.

How does globalpoker work? They payout in crypto as well?
