Hey, first post from a $2 SnG player here. Love to do the off the tale study but want to maximize my time.
I am using cheap/free tools: ICMizer, driverHUD, equilab, snapshove
I am reading regularly but trying to stay with one group of teachers (upswing at the moment).
What I would appreciate from y'all:
1) comments on my tools etc.
2) descriptions and links of how to best use cheap/free tools, articles, vids to study (detailed articles/descriptions would be best, I have read enough just-plug-it-into-the-EV-calculator pieces)
3) HUD set ups and how to use stats to study myself and my reg opponents.
Thanks

Maybe I am unaware of the upswing content but the stuff I've seen definitely isn't geared towards micro stakes sit n gos so I'm not sure that's optimal.

$2 sng isn't a very detailed explanation of the games you play. Format, site etc.

The tools are all fine and do what you want them to. I'd be very careful with how ICM affects the ranges that snapshove gives you because people will be shoving/calling nothing like they should be so it's well worth studying common spots using ranges that are realistic for your games when you have enough data.

The best advice with regards to studying I can give is study stuff that has an impact on your game, it's very easy to study things that aren't that important. i.e. spending lots of time looking at weird spots that basically never come up yet never spending any time looking at your calling ranges in the BB when btn opens.

Be specific on the topic you want to study, don't swap around all the time.

Thanks for that.
To clarify: I play $2.20 turbo 9 max SnG at PartyPoker (usually 2 at time mixed with $1.10s when they are the only thing going) and some odd SnGs at 888.
I get the issue with upswing but I feel that building sound foundation in terms of mixed gto/exploitive play is a good place to start.
I have noted a significant improvement since following some advice. My n is very small though.
Is there someone else you might recommend? Most of the less advanced stuff is kind of straight forward. Play super tight early then steadily open up...that kind of very true but not very helpful advice.
I had wondered the same about snapshove too. I feel like I have gained some confidence in expanding my shove ranges in a structured way but the call ranges seem too broad.
Thanks again for the support!
