Best site for micros?

So I'm currently playing NL10 6max at Fulltilt, but not sure if it's the best site to practice.

Im not really looking to make a living out of poker (not yet), but more to entertain myself with the competitive nature of poker and the satisfaction of learning. So taking that into account, I'm not really looking for the super easy games or insane rakebacks, but more like a lots of active players of diffrent skills.

So are there better sites out there?

Pokerstars, forever and always.

The only two ways to climb out of the micros without depositing any more money is to either fluke a tournament or put in a huge amount of volume. Since Pokerstars has the biggest player pool, that will be where you can put in the most volume.

Pokerstars also has the toughest player pool so that will suit your competitive thrill.

Re: Best site for micros?

Try the Ongame and Merge Networks...There are some rooms that offer rakeback. Trying to build a roll collecting rakeback and practicing would be good. Just one thing about the eurosites is that their peak hours say if your in Canada would be in the afternoon and the evenings in Canada are crap...not much tables but when their peak hours are going there is good amount of players around which is good because some of them eurosites are pretty fishy. So suggest the rooms with these networks.

Unibet might be a good choice. (No trackers though)

^lol, stop peddling your fail across BQ

OP, non-Stars sites and in the main softer but higher rake. Not all are reputable

Stars is not unbeatable at the micros and has lowest rake, best software, best support. There are plenty of fish to be found but you may have too look harder here than somewhere like 888

Re: Best site for micros?

I don't understand why stuff like cashout times and 'customer service' even matter to anyone playing microstakes. You shouldn't be cashing out unless you play 50nl+ anyway IMO (fair enough if it's for a genuine emergency, but you shouldn't be making regular withdrawals), and as for customer service, I've never had reason to speak to any support staff at all. Once you've got your first deposit online and are using proper BRM (so don't need to redeposit) there's really gotta be very little reason to ever speak to them.

Stuff to look at when choosing a site are the softness of the games, and the rake. Although the efficient market hypothesis suggests it's not gonna be amazingly easy to print money on any site compared to another since if it was all the sharks would move there and it wouldn't be easy anymore.

Well depends what you mean by 'making money'. You can win scraps for sure, but grinding micro on ps is my idea of hell. Would take ages to grind up on ps micro, but op is more interested in a challenge anyway it seems.

Ongame and merge are good to start...just like I mentioned softer fields and rakeback! you can also cash out ur rakeback(points) into real money instantly. Best poker does this and it's really fishy

Re: Best site for micros?

20nl+ I would be playing at soft euro sites all day long with good RB.
Reasons:
1. Flat RB --> no VIP systems. More benefits from playing at the lower stakes. No need to chase a VIP status, you take few days off (or a week) and study.
2. Small player pools. Get a good sample on your opponents and start exploiting their leaks. There's also high probability that when you know everyone, every new player at your stake is a fish.
Only con is that the games aren't always running and it's harder to get a seat. If you are fine with 4-6 tables it's ok. You also have to be willing to play HU in order to start tables. Software is also an issue. OnGame lags, iPoker crashes & lags, but Microgaming software is very good and i enjoy playing there.
Note that this only applies for stakes 20nl and higher. I made rake comparison here from 10nl:

Full Tilt Poker has similar rake structure as Microgaming in 10nl so you can expect similar numbers.

Re: Best site for micros?

Have nothing against Stars, but my policy is to only play there if i attempt to go for Supernova. And i hate VIP systems, just purely hate them :P
And if i had bad graphs i would probably reconsider my options.
