I'm new to online Poker. I've been looking at the different Huds available. I'm trying out Drive HUD now. Drive HUD does not save the hand histories of my opponents. It always resets their stats every new session even though I have played with them in the past. Is this how all the HUD''s work? I'm failing to see the real benefit a HUD can offer if it's only giving you your opponent's stats for the immediate session that you are with them. In MTT''s people are getting moved around regularly so you often don't have a very large survey of hands for your opponents. I can see it may be of some benefit if you are doing some long sessions with the same opponents at a cash table, but that's about it from my perspective thus far.

Am I missing something here? Does Holdem Manager or Poker Tracker operate the same way?

Also, I see a program called Card Catcher by Ace Poker Solutions... they say they make Holdem Manager work for BetOnline which is where I'm at. But I contacted Holdem Manager and they said their software works good with BetOnline. What does Card Catcher actually do then?

Thanks for any and all feedback.

Both programs "store" the history; both offer a free trial phase, so take a look at both of them and then make your decision.
And please don't ask which one is better: If you ask 10 persons you'll get 11 answers!

You'd better make this thread with pool. The question is not which one is better but how many of players use wich one (players preferences)

Im a long time PT4 user and maybe my comments are biassed but to me PT4 > HM2 but it has a bigger learning curve and it will take you a bit more to get around it and get the most value out of it in comparisson to HM2 but besides all those options you mention you can also check Hand2Note, check the Commercial Software subforum here and check it out.

I use HM2 and PT4 and I am loyal, but without a doubt the best and most expensive out there is H2N. By far.

One can get knowledge with HEM/PT also and they might support more sites and the converters (for sites that do not support the tracker/HUD) are for HEM and PT only. There are also HUDs for tourneys.

There is some possibility some of the new ones will help one to correct some leaks better or easier than HEM/PT does.

Like there was Snowie possibility for PT/HEM that split your ranges per street, if you should e.g. bet or check, that's on the direction of GTO and does that analyses for you automatically, seeking leaks; not usually correct specifically but it seeks out deviations and you might have a leak there and at least you got percentage of some of your actions. If you knew the GTO already, it didn't help at all really, just an extra toy that looks into those and you can then go through them and maybe learn something, maybe not.

You can see your stats with the HEM/PT and compare to winning players' stats that you might get also from tracking or training sites.

The RIO/Galfond site won't allow HUDs, the GreySnowPoker doesn't have one (till a converter if allowed), VirtuePoker (if gets action), and the "Chinese" risky agent sites need HEM/PT plus a usually costly converter, and the same for Indian sites and so on. Many sites need a converter if you want a HUD.

"Drive HUD does not save the hand histories of my opponents. It always resets their stats every new session even though I have played with them in the past. Is this how all the HUD''s work?"

Unlikely, would look like a scam to me. Your mistake? HEM has a session stats/hands option, used at Party cash games (something to consider when buying a HUD, if it is supported). Drive HUD is only 9 dollars (16 dollars as combo NLH and PLO) or so for one year (5 dollars for next, even if it is a combo; if it isn't a typo) if you play up to 5c big blind cash or up to 5 dollar tourneys. 30d free trial.

Hand2Note. 30d free trial. Free for holdem micros up to NLH25, LHE 1/2, 9 dollar NLH tourneys. Bigger than that costs 10 dollars or more per month. Only NLH. But (at this time) a free HUD for micro/low limit holdem and might well stay as so, up to some limit, as not the only free HUD there has been or is.

A GTO training software would be nice: not the current mere GTO study softwares that one can't play against, and if playing, one also wants to adjust how the bots play and they could add analyses features to that (tracking your stats also) and it would be something worth to get, like finding optimal play vs. types. But at this time, one plays vs. real-life opponents only and any GTO study done will be a study only, that goes in the memory. The book knowledge here is also the key, but it can be improved further; details, situations. But would be nice to play as a test, especially training, getting stats, vs. real GTO and anything one wants.

The trackers are for getting one's stats good (if you need a tracker for it, as your knoledge can cover that), tracking the opponents' stats to find (reg) leaks (professional use), getting something extra that HEM/PT doesn't offer, something nice possibly.

Hand2Note (free for micro, or up to 25, as far as they say). Works for Omaha also (site says NL), not at Zoom and for better HUD stats visibility (at Stars), needs some extra (pay?) software, but usable w/o. Not sure if can get the stats background transparent and the stats colours as I want and the exact stats I want and if they are bug-free, e.g. HEM1 wasn't as it gave wrong check raise stats and so on.

I can't instantly see but mostly free players (and pros) to pay for this as I am not impressed so far, but it is in the statistical analyses, I suppose. I pushed the range research button and got a pop-up saying it needs an active Edge subscription, so I am not at all sure this has anything to offer for free players, other than it is free or so. Seems also a bit not fully ready at this time. Should serve as a backup HUD for 25 and lower, if you don't play zoom then.
