Basic math question Basic math question

Hi guys, I feel lost on this basic question so I ask before I start doing stupid things.

I tried this example on equilab:

My hand on BB: A4o ------- 44.59%

V on BTN: 32.73% -------- 55.41%

So, he pushes as 10bb at T200.

Pot is: 2000 + 200 + 100 + 216 (ante) = 2516

I need to pay 1800 to get a chance of getting 2516 + 1800?

So, Call / (Call + Pot) = 0.417%

It's an EV+ spot. Is my math right?

If a cash game or early in a tournament, the equity you need for calling a shove is

Your call amount / Final pot after your call.

This is what you did so it looks ok provided it’s not late in the tournament such as a final table, where ICM/Prize EV is a more useful metric than chip EV. Of course there are other factors such as stack size, tournament standing, image, villain characterization, etc. that can change a pure math based conclusion.

Nice, I am trying to stop protecting my medium average stack and end up always bleeding blinds, so I think I need to take every ev+ spot in chipev mode up to bigstack and then cutting out to 20/30% stack risk depending on my hand and V's range. Am I right?
