Thanks for the answers Kelvis and Duncelanas. Helping people is good; being patient enough to do so all the time is hard, so it is appreciated. Congrats on reaching 2000 btw.
I did ok, certainly didn't get my fair share of that though.

Just alcohol. Tried not to play for any big money when I did that so nothing too spectacular.

Going home after drinks, seeing someone with pizza. I wanted pizza. Paid 10 euros for one slice.

I have no idea what a "Mississippi buff type of line for value" is... I was not kidding, I usually triple barrel a lot.

I was already playing 50/50 live/online well before that. Actually I just shipped a $27 MTT on FTP for $7k like a month before black friday and luckily got the money like two weeks later when the doomswitch was pressed.

Did you skip this part, on purpose? There are traditions, you know.

A stranger is being shown around a village that he has just become part of. He is shown a well, and his guide says, "On any day except Tuesday, you can shout any question down that well, and you'll be told the answer." The man seems pretty impressed, and so he shouts down: "Why not on Tuesday?" The voice from in the well shouts back: "Because, on Tuesday, it's your day in the well."
  • Tell us about your poker story. How did you get started? How did you go from loser to winner?
  • What games do you play, other than NLHE? Do you think it is important to play more than one game, or do you think that specializing is the Way.
  • Who is your favorite poster? Least favorite and given the power, would you vote this person out of 2+2 forever?
  • If you were RED for the day, what would you do in BQ to make it better? To reward those deserving? To punish those who need it? Also, what's the first thing you'd look for on the mod forum (if it even exists)?
  • What one thing do most beginners not know that they should? What do they think they know that they're completely wrong about?
Good luck

If I can ask you anything I'd like to ask you what your deepest poker secret is, the most important and unambiguous thing you've learnt and utilize at the table... or is all your knowledge equally useful?

Was not aware, no.
[*] Started playing SNGs/cash on FTP back when games were easy in like 2009 or something like that. Understood that this was a game that was actually beatable but had some pretty significant swings on the way up before I was confident I was actually a winning player.
[*] Played some PLO but it quite stick even though it is a fun game sometimes. Unless the games that are available aren't always running so you're forced to play whatever it is the recs are I don't think it is necessary to learn more games. Specialization tends to yield the best results in most fields and I think this also applies in poker.
[*] I like Arty for his (very similar) systematic style of explaining concepts and don't really have a clue who my least favorite one is. Anyone who says math is idiotic and claims everything is rigged will instantly qualify. I'd still prefer not to exclude this person for entertainment value.
[*] You could make a kudos system where someones response is actually rated by posters. Because it is BQ everyone with different skill levels and insights can and should be able to post. Still it can be confusing for beginners what advice to take and what not, a rating system that shows the +/- of posts in his thread could be an addition.
[*] NEVER LIMP

Je suis surpris. I use Francophile usernames sometimes too.

FWIW, in answer to greybeard's question, the reasons I post in BQ chime with those given by Dunc.

I'm not going to do your math homework.

Having said that, regression analysis is pretty boring and it is just trying to connect pieces of data. What you'd normally do in linear algebra is try to find the closest fitting vector by comparing the distance^2 of all points and pick the best one. F-test and t-test are just plain high school math and you need to google them.
For someone who wants to learn more math (or any other discipline or topic) free videos from Khan Academy are a good way to go.

Mr. Kelvis.

Why are you posting this and then giving minimal responses? This seems quite superficial and boring.

Please elaborate on Doug l's first two bullet questions

I actually don't play that often so when I do it is for fun. But yeah I like to play games, running, have drinks, play pool, stuff like that, watch series I like, go to the movies once in a while.

Right now I enjoy the short handed/HU MTTs/SNGs microstakes on stars.

That was not my intention but I rarely know how to fill in peoples open questions so I'll go into more detail.

I first learned about poker at the age of 16 at high school. We used to play the old $10c limit hold em and everyone was terrible including myself. Don't know who was the biggest donk of the group but if I look back there wasn't a single one with any sort of clue. As it was the last year people wanted to raise the stakes a bit and we ended up playing NLH with no blinds (yeah) with a $5 cap on each street. Ended up with a pretty nice profit in the last month due to being able to play tight and just cap it when I have the nuts.

When I was (sort) of legal age there were these freerolls on sites like unibet and stuff like that where I'd play like 3 hours to win $20c. Got tired of it and after reading a bit decided to play for some actual money. Played terrible of course and lost some money which got some people upset, let it go for a while and finally picked it up at the age of 19/20 playing SNGs mostly. Ran up a decent sized bankroll and used part of it to play live 1/2 at the casino. Got absolutely destroyed by mostly variance and overestimating peoples bluffing frequency. Probably went on a 20BI downswing in the first few months before finally running it up to a decent sized bankroll for live games. In the meanwhile I was playing online cash up to 50NL/100NL and MTTs up to $50 and made quite a bit of money, at least for my age then.

In the meanwhile my attention for school sort of faded and was put on the background. Added some home games to the rotation and was pretty much a regular in my local casino. Met some people that I discussed poker with a lot, calling out their hands every time they went to showdown. Went out drinking at least twice a week and playing close to 50 hours a week for a while. Met all kind of toxic women and had some good friends with whom I'd often meet outside the casino, shared rides to other games etc.

Getting short on time here so I'll call this part 1. Stay tuned for the rest.
