The fact that you can't do what you want is a warning sign for gambling addiction. I think you should fundamentally consider whether gambling is right for you.
This is irrespective of whether you are a winner at poker or not. Even if you are a winning poker player, if you can't control yourself, you're going to have a real tough time in life.
I suggest this: set a hard time limit the next time you go. Leave when that limit hits, even if you're in the middle of an orbit, or even if you're in the middle of a hand. It's not about EV, it's about convincing yourself that you can leave whenever you want.
If you can play poker without it sprawling and consuming your life, set aside a monetary budget - not a bankroll - to play. Put in a buyin a week or something and whatever you don't lose goes into a shoebox. That shoebox becomes your bankroll when it reaches whatever you want it to reach.
