Adjusting RFI Ranges for limpers Adjusting RFI Ranges for limpers

Hello all. I’ve recently been trying to incorporate some ranges into my game, and the first set of ranges I’ve begun working with are the raising first in ranges. Nothing crazy, just the free ranges from upswing.

My question is, how do I adjust my RFI ranges for limpers ahead of me? I find myself a little hesitant to raise the bottom of the suggested ranges over several limpers. For example, I’m not exactly sure what to do with hands like 45s or J8off on the button with 4 limps ahead of me. I want to stay balanced but with the bottom of my range multi-way I feel like it’s not a profitable raise.

My initial thoughts are 1) tighten the ranges up and remove the bottom % of hands when facing multiple limpers or 2) size up my raises to fold out more limps. How do you guys proceed over limpers? Any resources that you could share?

focus on postflop and how J8o and 45s plays against the opposition when 3 cards or more have hit the board unless your playing shallow.

if they fold to a sqz it doesn't matter, if they're stations and always wanna see a flop nix the polarized board coverage part of your range and go HAM on the linear value end (broadways etc). also consider raising quite large, the larger you raise the more you CAN tighten your range (i say can, because, theoretically you would need to, but the passive limpers rnt gonna exploit u so who cares)

Since limpers tend to call iso-raises more often than fold to them (in my micro database, a limper limp-calls about 70% of the time) I recommend playing tighter vs limps than the range you'd open in that position. Since J8o is probably not even a good BTN open, it's a pretty terrible hand to try isolating with. Just fold pre.
Hands like 54s can be over-limped. Since hands like that (and 77-22, also) are quite speculative, you don't mind seeing the flop in position for a bargain price, as you only intend to put more money in the pot if you flop some solid equity.

To put it another way, I'd only isolate with hands that typically can c-bet (for "value") quite often (like TT+, KQs, AQ etc). You don't want to play a bloated pot vs stations with jack high, middle pair, or 5-high.

Against weak limpers, you don't need to bother with balance. Indeed, it's counter-productive. Just think of value, and don't "bluff". Raise your best hands, overlimp the middling ones to see if you can hit the flop, fold the junk.
