Adjusting to games with less people. Adjusting to games with less people.

Hello

I'm relatively new to poker and am reading and learning a lot from a book I got on Texas Holdem. However, the book is for 9 handed games and I am wondering how you adjust to playing with less people.

Like how would I apply what I am learning for 9 player to 6,5,4 or as low as 2?

Do the ranges of cards you play change preflop? Does postflop change?

Thanks for any help!

Yes- play changes a lot when you are shorthanded (the most obvious example is the action simply comes around to you more often...)

There are a lot of good resources here and elsewhere online about how to adjust your range based on the number of players. But as a general starting point, the fewer players there are, the more loose/aggressive you should be.

2 players (heads up) a lot of people are playing any two cards. Look at some preflop raise charts for full ring vs short handed tables and you'll start to see the difference.
