skylit, I dont think zoom is good for a beginner. You will have many leaks and will sink quickly in games that for me run about 4x as many hands per hour as regular speed tables. 6Max is more fun than FR. If you like action, play 6M.

I'm just about to move up to 25nl having started at 2nl and have been playing almost solely FR zoom. I think zoom is excellent for learning about opening ranges, exploiting leaks in weak regs and understanding typical bet patterns.

I would say the your more likely to get a shot at outright fish in the normal tables. If you do stumble onto one in zoom you need to have had seen the hands to make the assumption that they are a fish and hope you have the hand/position to get the most value. Your lucky if you get one of these and let alone both so usually you have to let them go back into the (player) pool to be picked off by someone else.

Zoom is best for the begginners imo because their biggest leak is thinking they are winning players, and that poker is easy. Zoom lets you realise you aren't winning more quickly than normal tables and makes you waste less hours thinking you are running bad before you start to work on your game.

TBH the best thing about zoom is I stay concentrated. The constant action is soo good. I have a hint of ADD so constant action is good for me.

I like action.

Action.

If anyone is interested, i posted some time ago in this thread, playing zoom mainly, progressed from 5nl to 50nl, cought a major downswing and didn't apply bankroll management anymore, major tilt issues. Fixed it and made myself a new challenge. My blog's on http://kaspert.wordpress.com (100K challenge)

Zoom 10NL 6max graph as of start challenge: (with about 10 hands of 25nl in between by mistake)

Microstakes are really really easy on zoom uptill 25nl for sure.

I'm just thinking about moving to 25NL zoom 6max.
I still have some issues with downswings and tilting that I'm working on.
But otherwise I'm pretty happy with my play (still lot to improve) and feel ready to move up.

What are main differences between 10NL and 25NL? (question to all players with experience with 10NL and 25NL zoom 6 max)

I'm expecting to see less fishes, more aggressive regs and better play in average...
