I played micros for a few months in late 2010 and ended up break even playing 6max and 9max, then had to quit so I could focus on some other stuff. Looking to start playing again and hopefully make it to mid stakes in a few years!
But anyway, I had a few questions:
-I live in the U.S. and I know about Black Friday and the closing of FT and Stars. What are popular sites for U.S. players right now?
-Has the game changed a lot since then? I would think there would be less fish at the micros because of Black Friday and all.
-Where should I start? I have $1000 saved up for my bankroll and I like to maintain a 25 BI bankroll, so I think it would be better to play at the higher end of the micros because the rake isn't as bad. However, I don't want to get crushed.. would it be better to maybe cut my BR in half and play at lower stakes?
Merge, Bodog and Everleaf, but some very odd things have been occurring on those networks recently. They are evidently full of decent regs, because so many US citizens have nowhere else to play, and casual US players can't be bothered to jump through various hoops to get around legal issues. Thanks for the responses guys. There's actually a casino about a 10 minute drive away, but I'm a bit too young to be playing live since the gambling age there is 21. It's definitely a long term plan that I had considered though, seeing as how online games are getting harder with every passing day.
Just started reading up on this Anon breach thing, and I definitely don't like the sound of Bodog's 'leaving US markets in December' so I'll probably be going with Merge. It's really unfortunate that US players have so few options for playing, though.
Anyway, are there any books that you guys would recommend in particular?
