for most people, it is not possible to learn how to play poker while playing for money that is in any way meaningful to them - emotional attitudes towards losing will push most people to play weak and passive (since losing is more painful than winning pleasant), which is the worst possible approach to being with
ironically, rare people who are able to learn this way are gambler types, who typically reacts to winning and losing differently than most. But those people should stay away from poker for obvious reasons
