do you realy need this to play poker? i am winning pretty good.
Well, it's a fundamental concept of poker. There's no real way to progress past a novice level without learning the fundamentals, especially with the state of the game today. There's no way you can guess which draws are worth playing and so forth.
If you just play for fun over a couple beers and don't care, I wouldn't bother. But if you want to be at all competent, you're going to need to learn this and a lot more.
Maybe Sklansky is a little boring for a first book, try something else. Do you play cash games or tournaments mostly?
