In the rare case of an "important" event, I make a point to get a lot of rest, eat well, and to keep my mind pretty blank regarding poker until I actually have cards in my hand. For typical poker sessions, I don't do anything special, as I'm pretty much always in the zone. If anything, I just ask myself if I'm in the mood to play poker, and if I'm not I do something else.
