victus otium = "live your leisure" as in "do what you love to do" although "otium" in Latin can actualy be translated to a few different things such as rest, food, and a few others i can't remember

I took Latin in college, got an A, and referred to my textbook before getting the tattoo. Both words are somewhat synonymous with each other, which is very much the nature of Latin. It can be translated to mean many different things, and if you actually knew anything about the language, you would know that.

LOL @ typing the word in google, finding the first meaning you come across, and thinking thats all it means

Well I certainly wouldn't get a permanent tatoo of something that could be translated into "I eat bat dung" in Swahili if it could mean numerous things...

Well thats the difference between you and me. I don't give a s*** if people don't fully comprehend these types of things.

And thats the nature of the language, and likely a part of why its a dead language, but I enjoy it nonetheless.
