Hi all,

I registered into a 30 ppl WSOP Main Event Sat. Basically, there are 4 events. Each time, the points are as follow:
-1st gets 30pts, 2nd gets 29pts, etc... 29th gets 1pts.
-1st event has a 1x multiplier, 2nd event 1.5x, 3rd and 4th 2x (to keep it interesting)

I feel this structure doesn't incentivize risk taking at all (vs regular tournaments where most of the money/pts is gained in the top places).

What would be your strategy. Some choices:
1/Still go for the win (agressive) - worst strategy imo
2/Play very solid and aim to get as much points as possible. I think this structure rewards the guy who will finish 10th mutliple times vs 1st once.
3/Play solid during the first 2 events, then if bad results, crank up aggression during the last 2 events. Imo, best strategy.

In short, I would probably play it like a last longer. But concretely what does it mean? Do you still set-mine 100bb deep or save chips at all costs? Do you play super nit and wait to reach 10bb to follow push or fold charts? etc.

Curious to hear you on this.

After 4 events, points are added up and the first one gets a ticket to the main event + money.
Other places get some piece of the main event tickets depending of their ranking. Even the dead last one gets .5% share.
