The thread was getting too long and cumbersome, so I've restarted it. The original thread is here: Weekly Forum games!

This is an informational post about the Beginners Questions forum games which happen almost every weekend.

Who?
You are invited. Beginners are welcome. Non-beginners are welcome. You can bring your A-game to test it against thinking players, or blow of steam by acting completely crazy. It's all good. You'll see both serious strategy discussions and silly boasts in this forum afterward.

What?
In recent months, there have been open cash games for a few hours, usually $0.01-$0.02 NLHE, but sometimes LHE or PLO, followed by a $5.50 tournament, with password "supbro" without the quotes. (Thanks to davidv1213 for setting these up.) There may be bounties on a player or two, e.g., if you can knock Janelle out, you might get an extra $0.25, or $5.

These are not official 2+2 tournaments. They have nothing to do with the 2+2 company except that they are run by 2+2 forum participants.

Here are some threads with videos you can watch of past games:
Commentary on two entire tournaments
ceegee's forum cash game videos

There are similar games for participants of other 2+2 strategy forums, e.g., the Trout games.

Where?
Recently, the games have been on PokerStars.

To find the tournaments, look for an announcement in this forum, and then go to Tourney->Private and look for a "Beginners" tournament at the right time.

To find the cash games, don't forget to turn off filters excluding full tables. You may want to sort the tables by name. Since the cash games are open, not all players will be 2+2-ers, but the chatty ones with 6 buy-ins on the table usually will be.

When?
Sunday evenings, Eastern time, usually 9 PM, with cash games running earlier. Sometimes people will try to set up cash games much earlier, or on Saturdays.

Why?
It's fun. It's educational. It's easy money when people respect your raises. You get to tag 2+2-ers with a note to bluff-raise them later. Come meet others who read or post in the Beginners Questions forum!

YEP it's H.O.R.S.E. tonight: See flyer for details. This will be on Full Tilt because Stars only offers ultra turbo blind increases and most people like a little longer blind levels. (6 minutes on Stars vs 10 min in FT) Another added attraction is the knock out or bounty feature. You get a dollar for anyone you knock out. This is FTP, Tourney Tab, Private Tab, 22:05 look for the HORSE tourney at 22:05 with the K in front of it. See you there.

Also: HORSE warm up session (on Stars) will start somewhere around 20:00 Lobby time. This is a cash HORSE game so you can come anytime a seat is available. We expect there will be randoms as well as 2+2ers because of the nature of the site. This will be at lowest available stakes, which I think is .10/.20 for HORSE.

Come to both and have fun!!!! A lot of the fun is in the chat box. There may be bounties, prop bets etc between players. And you never know who may show up.

Starting a HORSE "warm up" cash table on stars .10/.20. The tourney will be on FT but this is a cash table on Stars. STop in if you can MayII

Your thoughts and opinions on social games, ala SHENANIGANS or the like? We have been organizing a couple of games a week for the last 2-3 months and turnout is a little light. We think those who have been playing in them seem to enjoy them but we would like your input on what we might do to enhance participation and/or make the games more fun.

Take a minute and post your suggestions if you will. Thank you.

I for one had fun the few times I was able to play with you guys. I work weekends mostly and it became impossible for me. Maybe with fall approaching and everyone heading back to school it will pick back up.

Most of you know the Sunday SHENANIGANS game started right here in this forum and used to be called 2+2 beginners tourney. Respecting the companies position on using their name in such events we no longer use that name. This same event is now called SHENANIGANS.

You also know we have experimented with several ways to expand to have more events. In keeping with that tradition of change and updating we are going to try something new for the next three weeks.

As always, tonights SHENANIGANS is no limit hold 'em. Beginning tonight, for the next three weeks, the winner of the Sunday event can pick what type of poker we will play on Thursday night. Subject only to choosing a venue Stars offers in private tourney format and $5.50 (lowest offered) buy-in. We hope that will add to the fun.

Tonights tournament can be found in the Stars Tourney, Private tab and is called SHENANIGANS NLHE. 22:05 Stars lobby time. See you there and read pzhon's OP if you haven't already. You can PM me or Janellebb7 with questions, or ask them in this thread.

With Janellebb7 and Mcneese72 both back from dodging hurricane IKE, I celebrate their survival by offering a bounty of $2 on each of them in tonights tourney.
