Hi guys,
does anybody know what's the probability for having 2 pocket pairs at full table at the same time?

And further more:AA KK, AA QQ, KK QQ at the same time?

I'm guessing something like:

Quote:
6 possible combinations of each pocket pair (heart/diamond, spade/club, heart/club, etc.)
13 pocket pairs (22-AA)
78 possible combinations of pocket pairs
1,326 possible combinations of hole cards

((78/1,326)*P)*((78/1,326)*(P-1)) probability of two players receiving pocket pairs in the same hand at a P-handed table
Or something like that. Can't say I put a ton of thought into it.

I think 2 of the same pocket pair is roughly the same as having quads when looking at 5 handed poker statistics.

I really doubt that.

There is only one doom switch per player

Here's a real answer.

At a 10-player table, the probability that at least 2 players are dealt pocket pairs on any particular hand is 11.4%. That goes down with the number of seats (about 4.5% 6-handed). But that is the wrong question. If you hold a pocket pair, the chance that another player at the table has one is 42.5% (at 10-handed). And if you have 88, there is a 21.3% chance someone has a higher pocket pair than you (10-handed).

This was confusing because the question wasn't about 2 of the same pocket pair. Thinking about it, the odds for that (AA vs AA, or 88 vs 88) are probably about the same as quads. You may see it a tad less often, just because it usually only gets to the showdown if they're QQ vs QQ or up.

besides the chances of it before you are dealt a card. you then have to take into account the betting and other factors you can use. certainly if someone is raising your pair of eights you can be assured the chances are much higher than the starting chances he has a pair.
